Any% Glitchless for IL runs

I'm mainly writing this because I don't want glitchless runs mixed with glitched runs (e.g escape 2). It shouldn't be that hard to implement and would help the glitchless side of karlson speedrunning

Yea maybe.. i mean many levels actually use glitches and a category like that has been suggested before. Ill see what other people say

Just another category to get 1st or 2nd in is all I see 8) also most IL records don't even use stuff like wallclips or the pause menu prop fling trick. most of the routes in any% are just using things that exploit how the game was designed rather than taking advantage of an oversight like clipping through walls or the prop fling thing.

at this point in time, i'm pretty sure only esc1 and esc2 use "glitches", unless we are counting mega/super jumps in here which would be pretty ridiculous to me. or if you count grabbing the shotgun through the wall in sandbox 2 as a "glitch" then maybe that level too.

that just sounds very boring. do we eliminate crouch jumping as well then? what about sliding under the table and uncrouching to get the milk, or prop jumping (without pausing like in esc3).

id say crouch jumps arent glitches and the table neither

I personally think prop jumping without the pause isn't a glitch, it's just an object hitting you. I wouldn't be entirely against this category.

defining what is and isnt a glitch is a messy task

Glitch: -dc (double crouch) -gun not resetting when you respawn at tutorial -the wonky prop freezing -spam clicking objects to fling them away towards 0, 0, 0 or smth ( we would just ignore it bcs you can get it while just picking up objects so hard moderate that one) -wall clipping -frozen timer glitch -superjumps and megajump -making the enemies passive by walking out of range or smth ( still dont fully understand that one but idc since it doesnt get used in speedruns -prop jumping (its not intended so its a "glitch") -that wierd lil jump boost you get when you jump off 2 edges -the extreme version of the barrel boost

Thats how i see it.. some of them are useless but i still list em. some of them might just be exploits but we just combine exploits and glitches into one.

sounds like a boring ass run to me ngl, but whatever. people who want an easy trophy aren't going to get it because us any% runners will just take it for ourselves so i don't see the point to adding it. the used "glitches" in any% raise the skill ceiling and make runs more exciting anyways

On some levels its really hard to tell if you do a superjump or not (like on the doorframe of esc0). How much does your speed have to increase from a barrel explosion to be considered a glitch? Is grabbing doors considered a glitch? If you are in the middle of a full game run and you accidentally perform one of these glitches do you have to restart the entire run?
