Are we counting Orcastraw's 3:39:39 run from a few days ago?

And now Venick409 has a 1:24:07 run using the Epona amiibo.

You should add the Switch as a Platform, it's listed in the "Show obscure" section.

I guess Wind Waker has to work around the same issue with the Tingle Tuner, how do they play around that for leaderboard management?

If you think amibo is not legit just filter it out when you look at the leader board.

The difference is Tingle Tuner was being used to perform a glitch. While the Amiibo is just giving you a straight advantage. There are plenty of other horse nearby one could get and use, or run to castle. Allowing Amiibo should be a different category. Eventually you wont find these Amiibos anymore (and already hard enough to find) then if so only certain Amiibo should be allowed, as some will just rng runs of scanning amiibo till get a good chest with armor/weapons in it.

For now Amiibo will remain as a variable when submitting a time to the leaderboards. Currently there are no plans to ban/separate amiibo (at least in terms of any%). However, as other categories become figured out, Amiibo may or may not be separated/banned for those categories. A decision to separate/ban the usage of Amiibo will probably only happen if, after the speedrunning scene for the game settles down, a majority of runners want Amiibo to be separated/banned, then it might happen. As a comparison to the Tingle Tuner in Wind Waker, one could argue that the Tingle Tuner also gives a straight up advantage with functionalities such as restoring magic on a whim and being able to walk on air, both of which are straight up advantages and used in speedruns of the game.

As for Orcastraw's 3:39, whether or not it gets added to the leaderboards depends on whether or not she wants to submit that time.

I agree with Gymnast, Whether Amiibos will be allowed in any% is up to the runners at the end of the day. And that can be decided when the run is more fleshed out and more time has passed. But for now it's fine letting both runs be any%

Amiibo DEFINITELY need to be on a completely separate page for Any%. The use of Amiibo is far too advantageous to reasonably compare it to non-Amiibo runs. Compounding this, the access of certain amiibo to the general public is fairly limited, and doesn't really create an even playing field for Any%. Gotta at least separate them into different pages under Any%, or make it a different category. Anyone who has an understanding of the amiibo functionality in this game should grasp that its use is incomparable to non-amiibo runs.

While I agree with Amiibos at least being a separate category, I feel it's worth point out that it's possible to clone Amiibos via NFC tags and an Android device with an NFC reader. Obviously that's not ideal, but if the only issue is availability, then this is a workable alternative.

I agree that Amiibos should be a separate category. Also I submitted a All Dungeon speedrun that took me 6:34:29. Which is ridiculously slow but I decided to try a run without any route in mind and see where that would lead me. Lots of changes to be made but overall happy with my first run.
