Alright , hello there xD , i'm new to the speedrunning comminuty , i have seen people play games and I sometimes watched youtube videos about speedrunning , and I got interrested in how to start speedrunning and what you should do to get started , I mainly want to speedrun games such as M64 , M sunshine, and any zelda game , but how do you play those games and is there any platform which would make it easy to record this , or is it just an emulator and recording program? thnx in advance :D

It will vary from game to game whether emulators are preferred, or even allowed. The best place to check would be the game''s forum, rules or guides page, which you can find on the left hand side of every leaderboard :~) I think most "serious" SM64, Zelda etc runners will use an actual console (in which case you would need a capture card) but I don't have any experience in that community myself.

It depends. Some boards ban you from using certain platforms for reasons. Certain games are also faster on certain versions and platforms. So you really just have to do your research. its a pleasure to meet you I wish you the best of luck!
