hey im interested in running this game and im a lil confused by the category names. also are there time trial leaderboards anywhere for individual tracks?
after some testing and practicing I have a two main questions: when does timing start/stop for any%? what are the specific distinctions between any% and single series any%? if anyone is still around this forum please let me know thanks!
oh timing starts from the keypress that starts championship, in the menu.
Time finishes at final input before credit role, after cup is awarded.
single series is the first championship,
double series is the custom championship as well, but nobody has routed that at all.
Thanks for clearing that up! I'll have to retime my run sometime as I ended the time when I crossed the finish line.
Well, it's preference really, SRL rules would say first input to last input. But nolove used finish line.
It's not really preference, the timing of when to start/stop the timer is important to define. Otherwise there is no reason to now stop the timer when you cross the finish line as it gives you a faster time.
You say that the timer starts when the championship is selected, does that mean that you skip over the 101 license and it isn't apart of the run?
No its the driver 101 select, sorry, not thinking. I only said preference because there are only a couple of us. I'd say stick to last button press to be safe.
If I could make a suggestion, all TASs go to last input but all of the RTA categories I've seen in all of the games I've seen run go to the last event that causes the end of the game, for example, the final blow on the final boss. I would suggest ending the timing at crossing the finish line in the final one on one race that ends the single series.
I agree with ottergod, there is no time to be gained after crossing the finish line since it's just spamming the A button to get through the menus.
