Hey guys, Resident Evil 5 was recently moved to the steam servers, and now the game save file is account linked on steam. That means, there is no more way to delete the save file from your computer and thus start a new game. Do any of you have found a way to reset the save files yet ?
can you not delete the save file with steam cloud turned off then start the game(to have a new save file created) or will that not change anything at all?
I already did that but either it doesn't change anything, either the local save file is really well hidden. Or maybe I'm a dummy. That's possible too...
I play NG on Xbox 360. I'm not sure if you can select a hard drive or cloud saves on PC. I use hard drive for NG+ and cloud for NG. Just clearing my saves every time.
this is obviously PC(steam), not xbox 360 so its way different.
if it work the same as dead island(minus using a different save file), turning cloud off, deleting the local save, restarting steam in offline mode, start RE5(so it make a new save file(?)) and then turning the cloud back on should in theory make it work.
save file should be in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\USERID\21690\remote or something like that.
I guess you mean Hard drive for NG and cloud for NG+. Anyway I'm trying to save the game as it is right now (almost new game, no money I gave the few items I had to the other character) and maybe reload this backup after every run ? If my partner and I do that it may work I'll keep you updated thanks for the help
So going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\USERID\21690\remote and deleting savedata.bin erases the save file and disabling the steam cloud seems to prevent the game from creating a new save file. Gonna run it tonight hopefully that will be it for this thread. Thanks Deln and Sparox !
