Would explicit games even be allowed for leaderboards here? Like ones that can't be streamed to YouTube or Twitch?
nudity is not allowed afaik, but if you mean excessive swearing, use of alcohol etc, then here's an example:
We have boards for Hunie Pop and Hatred, so Iunno how true that is.
I've seen a Hunie Pop run uncensored and see, you know, explicit areas. Although that was over a year ago so I don't know if those runs are still around.
Who knows if they still are, but those videos are for definite in flagging territory for a channel/community guidelines strike on Youtube. So, if people want to risk their entire channel for that, then that's their choice.
If the game has an in-game timer, maybe a screen shot of the final time could be allowed for a leaderboard here with a rule not to post images of explicit content.
Maybe an image of the timer with a link to a video on a more lenient platform would do? That way it's not embedded on the site. But perhaps even a link to an image host with yet another link in the description of that host to a supporting platform might be better. That way nothing is directly associated here. You'd really have to ask the site mods what would be an acceptable solution though.
Excuse my ignorance of the genre, but are there explicit games that require a lot of skill? I'd imagine there's some out there with a lot of bugs, so I guess speedrunning in that context isn't much of a stretch there...
There are actually quite a few RPGs that can't have leaderboards simply due to the fact that they have nudity. (Trust me on that point (thanks younger me for actually trying to find things like that when I was younger)). LMAO some are actually decent. But yeah sadly not possible to have leaderboards. Then again I'm not sure or not but most likely not if having still images of some mild things isn't possible.
