Notifications appearing late
Florida, USA

Hey all, recently, my notifications have been appearing hours, sometimes days, after the thing it says happened. Is there any way to fix this?

unfortunately no, the reason is due to the notification system being unable to cope with the site traffic, it's an outdated architecture which should've been top of Elo's priorities when they arrived 2 years ago. It will likely improve over time but it's never certain when or by how much.

edit: Fresh in my memory thanks to a good explanation from Yummy Bacon

Yep, a bunch of people have been experiencing this issue https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/daf4c Although, at least it seems that some are coming through

A week of no notifications and I only get one notification yesterday noting that someone has beaten my top ten time. Either the site’s traffic is slow, or just not keeping up with the vast amount of “Roblox: doors” speedruns.

Oh but the villainy of Roblox Doors speedruns spreads far beyond site traffic... /j

So are only a few select people having this problem?

Would deleting cookies solve anything?

I’ve been getting notifications that my runs are verified, and those are on time, but I haven’t been getting forum notifications recently.

Same here, my last forum notification was from three weeks ago, even though my followed games have new posts I haven't seen in my notifications. It might have something to do with too many requests being processed at once, since there's too many people who get hundreds of notifications a day, it's probably causing the sites server to overload and not be able to send the packets. I'm not sure if that's it, but it could be what's happening.

All of my recent notifications are about ME, not other followed games, EG: "Your time has been beaten by X", and "Your run has been verified." The last "normal" notification I received was 2 weeks ago.

Mine are just about new pending runs in the games that I mod, they're also about when a run gets rejected by another moderator. My last notification was from today😎

I haven't received any world record/top 3 notifications in a long time. I really hope Elo fixes this soon because notifications are like the most important thing besides submitting runs.

I'm following 60 games and my last notification is from the start of December. Since there haven't even been stray notifs coming through, i guess they just turned off parts of the system and are rewriting it. Maybe they are even pulling it ahead of the rest of the leaderboards/moderation rework.
