I've run a lot of stuff in the past and continue to run a fuckton of stuff. Recently, I've had people complaining to me that I don't update any of my YT vids with the title WR (since they were WR when uploaded). However, I'm very lazy and don't want to have to manually update every title after it's beaten, especially since a lot of my runs in the past were done on games I don't care to speedrun atm and therefor don't look at the boards for. Is this a scummy thing to do? The same person from before said I'm a scumbag for not being willing to constantly update any WR vids to former WR or something like that.
I think it's the decent thing to do, because after the run is beaten, your video title claims something that is not true. If you don't care about that or don't want to update titles of old runs, you can just not put the title "world record" in the first place.
I agree with Oreo. I'm fairly dedicated to ensuring I update my titles both when I beat ones marked as PBs and when my WRs get beaten (either by me or someone else). I've also held others to the same standard before. If I may propose another alternative, you could put "WR on [date of run]".
@Lieutenant_Boo , @Oreo321 what if the description says something like 'this run might not be a WR'? Or would that not be the same? Genuinely curious
If you think it “might not be a WR” then don’t put WR in the title.
I think that what @Oreo321 says answers your question. If you don’t care to update the titles, then just dont put WR or PB in the titles.
