For the rta times and not IL if we are timing from the menu start it should end on the menu aka results screen. IL levels are timed on their own with the time ending on gold chest open as u said. It makes sense for rta to either have it start and end the same or we start the time as soon as the first stage does and end on the last stage at chest open. U mention that chapter 6 after its complete it has credits this is only for fresh NG files on normal if I remember correctly so as I suggested that timing would work better for NG+ especially for 1-6 and 1-11.
I suggested Gold Chest to Keyn_Naka and I think it is better for a couple reasons. First, it is when the in game timer stops, which is clear for when to time something. Second, chest open does not require loading, results does. This gives another advantage to 360.
While I would like to time via first input in stage for the starting time, this is not easy to time via delays due to connectivity for co-op. Starting the stage from the menu is, once again, very clearly defined.
Why not combine IGT for levels?
This was a consideration, but since RTA could involve menuing items that you used, it seems like IGT wouldn't be in the spirit of that run. There are always ILs for that.
For the Chapter 1-6 and 1-11 runs they should be RTA and start on "Start" of the first chapter where it would begin timing and end on the opening if the boss chest of the last chapter for those Runs. Edited¤ I understand what you mean about timing just from the IL's and adding the total time together but thats sorta like doing a segmented run and then why not just do the IL's if you want to use the IGT. The longer runs like Chapters 1-6 or 1-11 should Remain True to RTA and include things like menuing and such but the connectivity thing well thats just something we have to learn to deal with exclusively as part of the COOP experience of the game. As for loading being a difference between the 360 and Ps3 and other major differences We could just have them separated by not allowing System Overrides so that both 360 and or PS3 runs can be show for any players that would for instance run both and get different times on each. Alternatively a Subcategory can be made after the Main Category and before the other Sub categories nested in them to separate the consoles entirely.
This should be fairly easy to implement now that the Boards have a much easier to navigate and sorted layout, making these adjustments and changes should be fairly straight forward and just be set to add a default to all runs and then go and manually fix that if needed to prevent lost or re-categorized runs.
I've had allot of time to learn how to manipulate the boards layouts to get these sorta things to work or be changed fairly easily after lots of testing and trail and error so I know this is achievable else we wouldn't have the current layout which makes is fairly easy to submit any run for pretty much the entirety of the base game with or without DLC of whatever point in the runners progress with it. And being that Changes should be easy to do now with a bit of thought and knowing what settings to enable or disable for using sub categories which is the only real difficult part of making things look neater and having the ability to hide categories with no runs temporarily or non-general categories for challenges etc.

Anyway I still feel like this game should be spread out by characters for solo. It's a given fact that Soma bodies this game but at the same time you could potentially see some new things with other characters despite "this game not being popular and ppl dont run this game as it is" type feel I think. Just my 2c...
@ShinKensou it looks you have the discontent of the current leaderboard. We made the current leaderboard cooperated with MASH. For solo, we can filter by character. please show us your idea for the upgrade. What category should I make?
for solo mode, currently only soma's record is there. but I hope some people think and make the strategy of other characters.
