Please add PS2 as a console to submit runs on, and also why is PAL a category? Is the run actually different or is it just slower refresh rate? 
Also, I propose removal of any times without video evidence, entirely. Not that I necessarily think that people are lying about their times, but it sets a very bad precedent, especially when this is only allowed for people who are moderators.

I will add the PS2 console back on the boards. It confuses me whether the consoles should be the ones you can play the game on and the ones the game is made for.

As far as runs without video proof, there's no reason someone else can't submit a time without evidence. They don't have to be a mod to do that.

PAL also does have a slower refresh rate, so it makes sense to split the categories for people that can't run on NTSC.

I think I will change my initial stance on the video proof. Give me a second to edit those runs.

ok, making PAL a separate category doesn't really make sense assuming its just the same game but at 50hz, since anyone who "doesn't have access" can just get access or play on emulator. That's how nearly all other game communities are. 

Also, can we have a max score, or maybe a 100% category for full game? Not that I will run it any time soon, but ya know. Also, for max score, are the values the same for each level or would you have to memorize each level's max? Also, do snacks being picked up right after each other count toward the score increase or not?

yeah sorry for no videos on runs. Will try to record it next time. :) let it be as this. also cyberdemon, 100% is kinda impossible, because theres some levels where u cant get all of it. i think its arctic 2, and cant remember other levels.

but i like the pal category, for those who cant run on NTSC, as theres 5-6 minutes difference on runs.

well whats impossible about those levels? couldnt 100% just exclude those things that cant be done? or is it just one of those "too hard to do in a rta" type thingies

I can clear this up.

I haven't attempted to 100% all levels, but Arctic 1 is the one level I attempted that I haven't been able to get 100%. I have an IL of the highest possible score, at least unless someone can prove they can get a higher one.

Having said that, we could make a category where the goal is to max out the scores in all levels and to get the highest possible score in Arctic 1. The problem with it is that, as Cyber correctly guessed, collecting snacks in a row does count toward a multiplied total. Also, you cannot die in any levels or you will miss out on a 5000 point bonus. Because of that, I consider the run not RTA viable at this time. That doesn't mean it can't be done, but with bad controls and some ridiculous lines of snacks, it would take a lot of patience to get a good run in this category.

i would just say make 100% equal "get everything", rather than max the score, personally.

Meh, there's no real easy method of tracking that though. At least with Max Score you can verify that with the scoreboard that shows at the end. With "get everything" you'd literally have to count and make sure every snack was collected.

As Cyber stated, people who can't run NTSC can just emulate it.

I understand the motivation behind removing PAL from the boards for the following reasons:

1. There is no run with video proof submitted
2. There are no differences between the runs, and
3. People who can't access the NTSC version can always emulate it

However, it should be noted that you would still ideally get the NTSC version on disc thanks to fast disk speed, as that actually loads faster than emulator. This doesn't seem to be seriously handicapping anyone's emulated times at this point, though, so I am fine with removing PAL from the boards unless I hear some serious objections.
