Timing Rules

Can the timing start from the title screen rather than "Stage 1". It is fairly arbitrary when to start the splits (when you see "stage 1" flying in? When they settle in place? When they disappear?) and it is technically starting after you've already taken control (since you are controlling your character in the tutorial, and which character you choose there can take different amounts of time).

I am timing my runs in the following way. I think there might be a small difference between the way we are timing:

Start: Press start on title screen End: Screen goes fully black (as the screen fades out, you can still control your character)

Just wanted to let you know. If you need to re-time my run with however you are timing it, that's fine, but we should try to be consistent. Also the rules on the leaderboard should probably reflect our timing rules.

Hello. I would like to suggest exact frame count timing rules for this game.

  1. starting frame should be the first frame of black screen after pressing start. There is only 1 timed frame on "music on" screen before screen turn black and it's much better indicator to start the frame count from that black screen instead of last frame of title screen.

  2. Ending frame is the first frame of fully black screen after defeating last boss.

few times i've gotten near new second barrier by few frames and every time it's been bit unclear where to start the frame count since there is no clear indicator when you press start. By doing what i suggest for exact time will not change when to start the timer but makes frame count easier
