Glitchless category?

Hello! I see there is no "Glitchless" category for The Legend of Zelda. Or maybe I just missed it? I think it could be interesting, to help compare between the different runs, because obviously a run using glitches would be faster than a glitchless one. But I don't know if other persons are interested.

We don't think so. A 'glitchless' run would do some extra walking and kill a few extra enemies, and that's it.

I don't see enough interest to support that category on the boards.

I believe people have done "fun runs" of Glitchless, but there really isn't a defined category for it given that there are really only 2 minor glitches in this game - screen scrolling and block clipping.

A glitchless category would just be no screen scrolling and fighting some extra enemies (and some of the rooms in 9 requiring fighting extra enemies suck :p ). I just don't think there is much interest in that kinda category since the "glitches" in this game are so minor.

Edit: Pres types faster than I do.

Ok then. Thx for your answers :)

If there was a category, I'd definitely love to run it. Even if it were simply a "miscellaneous" one. Personally, I'd think newcomers whom are intimidated by scrolls and clips might learn that one first, before hitting no up+a. It could help more folks try the run?

I don't think there's much interest in a regular glitchless run... but Traditional Dungeon Order (1-9) glitchless would be awesome :)

I wouldn't mind seeing this, but as others said, it's kind of redundant since the glitches are minor. I think a lot of people learn the run without using glitches and then eventually learn to do them, then incorporate them into their runs.

That being said, if the category was there, someone would run it. It's not like we don't have categories on there with very few times already. :)

When i first started learning zelda, i was asking on the SDA forums the same question, lol oh the memories

Some things never change, 'cause the best games never die :)

Traditional dungeon order seems really interesting actually, I think that would be a good category.

Glitchless... meh. But glitchless T.D.O.? Sounds sounds fun :)

I'd run T.D.O. glitchless, or even a low% if it had a clear definition.

... there is a low% board for first and second quest.

i didn't see it, my bad. I'm gonna look into T.D.O. though.

Yes ! I did it at last ! Made a glitchless speedrun in traditional dungeon order ! ^^ The video is here : Should I submit the run ?

Categories should never dictate what route a player must use, traditional dungeon order in this case. I don't think a leaderboard should be created for this.

I also oppose a board for that, but it shouldn't discourage folks from running it on their own.
