That's really impressive. Thanks for working so hard for us!

@EmeraldAly Also, Oh_DeeR's post isn't wrong. Right now for my case, we still have to move in a few things remaining and I've been busy with family members due to christmas so I haven't been able to focus on the queue personally, only doing a handful here and there when I have some time.

People just need to be patient and give us a chance, I think I said somewhere we always pull through for everyone 99% of the time. But I just think it isn't fair when people can't wait and we often feel like we get criticized over it.

I'm sorry, but I don't trust anything he says, ever.

And I guess I should say this - the 5 seconds thing wasn't an attempt to demean anyone or say they don't work hard enough. It was "I know I have the wrong idea but I have no idea what the right idea is"

@EmeraldAly That's okay, I understand.

I guess if I had anything add to sum things up is that, in general all of us content mods try to work together where and when possible, at the same time not all of us are always on the same page which isn't a bad thing just means we'll talk about each others ideas and pick those off. All of us aren't doing this all the time, because that's just a bit crazy in my opinion (as I said I was tired of looking at games that day), we do like to do other things.

Most peoples problem is always the wait time, it really isn't that bad. Most of the time it is within 1-2 weeks and sometimes even less than that, it's been a long while since anyone had to wait longer than that. But still, the process for us is a little work and we just try our best to do what is best for the community and SRC as a whole and I understand when people don't understand and take things the wrong way. In my opinion, I think were doing pretty well and most people seem to be happy in the end which is what is important.

Thanks for taking my comments in the spirit they're intended. I actually do feel a little more elucidated. I put in for mod myself the last time it was open (I spend most of my life here ?) but Pac probably wasn't wrong to pass me over

@EmeraldAly I don't know if these are all the answers your looking for, I hope I did what I could for you.

There are far more than 5 game requests coming in a week. For commercial games (like NES, PS2, Gamecube, etc) there are a much smaller amount coming through, but in the realms of Romhacks, flash games, fan games, Steam games, there are a lot of these coming in over a short amount of time. Some of them we like to discuss. As like Dangerless said, not all of us are on the same page but that's natural, and some might think a game should exist or be worth having as a page whereas other's don't.

Another (partly but somewhat less so) issue is the slightly unintuitive request system. If someone makes a mistake we then have to totally reject the request. For example, if someone uses the exact same name as a currently existing game (which would cause conflicts and I'm fairly sure if these are accepted they're just auto-deleted by the database to prevent issues), or submits an individual game as a series. There is no way for us to edit that request ourselves, we are only able to reject informing them to resubmit the request correctly / adjust the info. This builds requests up even more whilst we're waiting for the submittee to amend their request.

Another good point I think Dangerless made in the past is sometimes people's moods vary. You don't want to be handling the requests when you're not in the right mindset because that could become unfair to the requests you're dealing with.

It's as I said in that thread though really, most people don't care about understanding the process and only care that their request isn't being handled as promptly as they would like, which is why usually we don't bother indulging those people. There is no point detailing every little bit about the process, because then people would likely just try to pick apart why every little bit shouldn't take as long in their eyes, and then people continue to ask anyway. It's the same exact thing with run verification.

In general terms, people do need to learn some patience and just chill until they hear something back.

I know we're all speedrunners and we're accustomed to doing stuff fast, but it's not like your request is gonna go anywhere. It sits there until it gets addressed, as long as that's not a process that's taking weeks and weeks, it's not a problem. If the request queue was deleted every two weeks and unactioned games needed to be re-submitted, that would be cause for concern, but that's not the case here so welp.
