There has been an issue recently with moderator inactivity that I hope we'll be able to solve. There are a few reasons why we need one or two new moderators

1. The current super mod and mod have been inactive for 12 days and 1 month respectively.

2. There was a forum post made over a month ago that was completely ignored, asking about the same situation.

3. We would like to start adding in custom levels, so people will have a reason to play the levels.

4. We also need more active mods to help with the mass uploads from the community channel everyday, and I can't do that myself because I can't verify runs I submitted.

One of the people who would be most fitting for the position of super mod is MaranTheLemon. Maran is a good fit because he is widely liked by the community, and he is currently the admin of the community discord.

let's address all of these in order.

1. I can only address myself here, but last bit of inactivity is due to me attending AGDQ, I think I can be forgiven for not checking this board during that time.

2. I have email notifications on for stuff like this, and while I did get one for this thread, I never received a notification about the existence of the thread you're presumably mentioning here (https://www.speedrun.com/henkils/thread/lbx7i). Since that and this thread are about the same topic, I won't reply to that one anymore. I would've responded to it, if srcom would've done what it's supposed to and sent me an email.

3. I stated when I made this board that all that needs to be done to add custom levels to this is shoot me a DM on Discord. I have not received a single request to add a level to the boards, so nothing has been done. All you need to do is ask.

4. I don't think another super mod is needed here. An additional verifier to help with the load would probably be appropriate though. I'll look for someone I think is suited and contact them.

I still think we need another mod, extra super mod is unnecessary rn imo, ofc I would say promote zeee to that, or if you don't trust him enough then there's still Maniax or me, or maybe someone else I'm not thinking of. Either way would be useful

Definitely need a new mod. One of the current ones should be replaced for sure or at least add another one.

The thing I don't quite get is what exactly you guys need another mod for. Going back to the original post, 1. & 2. have been addressed I'm pretty sure. Now that I'm home I'll show more presence. 3. has been addressed as well, seeing as nobody has ever approached me about this, I don't think it's that big an issue. An 4. sounds like what you want is another verifier.

I don't really know much about this all, but I do think we need a new moderator so someone who is actually active consistently could verify the submissions, so yes Shark, I think that's what the majority of us want. I added Activy as a verifier (replacing faulty, since he's not really interested in these boards). I hope that relieves some of the stress with verifying.

If you were going to add a verifier Storm would've been a much better choice, since he is the main uploader on the community channel where most of the runs will be submitted from.

I'm still having trouble understanding why you want to hold this position after saying that you wanted to distance yourself from the community that you hate.

New mod/replace mod

The community just wants someone else to be a mod that is active in the community. What is the issue with that? Faulty was a mod, he didn't touch this page, he is now gone. There should be no issue adding someone else to be a mod... It is super useful for the page to run correctly. Almost seems like Shark doesn't trust anybody to be a mod... I hope it's not because of spite or something. I just don't know why it would be an issue to add another mod.

I simply don't see a reason for another mod. All you guys are saying is "ADD MOD", without any reason why that should be necessary. I on the other hand have stated my arguments why there is no need for another mod. And I trust Activy enough to be a mod, I just don't see a reason for him to be one. So if you guys don't feel like actually making an argument for the need off an additional moderator, I'm gonna lock the thread soon because this discussion isn't going anywhere.

If you don't see the reason why then that means you're the problem. You've made it very clear that you don't care about this community anymore after you deleted the old community server to spite the people you were arguing with. Most people don't want you to have this position at all, but I didn't want it removed because you were still a massive driving force for the community in the beginning.

I do agree with Demp here to an extend. I don't want to witch hunt you out of the community, nor does anyone else. You have to understand that the situation you've brought yourself into is entirely your own fault. You claimed multiple times that you're done with the community, that you hated individuals in this community, and that you didn't trust me, storm are any other of the active speedrunners in particular. That outlash has happened, but still you decided to become supermod of this game.

This is chaotic evil, purely done out of spite. If hope you have the selfrespect to give up the supermod to someone else more respected in the community. If so, i would happily give you yet another chance.

Finally you guys are saying what I knew was the driving factor behind this from the start.

This is 1) taken out of context, and 2) not true. I just dislike a portion of the community, and the people I care about I'm still in contact with. I don't want to distance myself from the community as a whole, especially not the speedgaming side. faulty and I started Henk speedrunning, and thus I feel it's only fair that him and me call the shots on srcom. faulty isn't about this page, so that leaves me. I have shown nothing but support for this page, creating all of it, verifying runs whenever I'm home and see them, and I will add every level you want me to add. So I feel like the ones wanting things to happen purely out of spite are you guys.

And Maniax, what exactly are you going to do if I don't give up my position, which I feel like I've more than earned? Ban me from the server for something that upsets you personally but doesn't violate any rule?

Dempsey, I don't mind giving people mod in general. There's plenty people I'd like to mod, but they're either not suited for the position in my opinion, or don't want to have it in the first place.

As a side note, I still very much care for this game. Anyone who has spent more than 15 seconds talking to me at GDQ knows that. On top of that, I'm planning to submit Henk to Summer ESA as well as AGDQ 2020. So don't tell me that I don't care about it anymore. So don't tell me I shouldn't be mod because I have nothing to do with the game anymore. Neither do I have nothing to do with the community anymore, I read the new community server as much as the old one, which is multiple times daily. I just don't say much anymore, because I don't feel like I have anything to contribute to the discussions going on.

Wanting me removed for an action that half the community really dislikes, and the other half supports sounds like you have a personal problem with me. Which is fine, I knew the decision would be controversial. I, too, don't like some of you personally, which I'll openly admit. That however won't stop me from moderating this board as good as I can, and as the super moderator for this board I'm making the call that there is not another moderator needed. I don't need help with anything on here other than verifying runs, which is why there are two other verifiers besides me.

So if you're telling me that I'm doing things out of spite, take a look in the mirror for a second.
