Separation of categories

Noticed in some other MX games they have Nationals and Championship races separated into two different categories. Was wondering if this was a thing we could do for this game to make the run a little shorter and more bearable.

Also are we allowed to change the number of laps from 5 to 3 ?

idk, I had them originally separated, but then I combined them and left it as was because I wouldn't be too sure what "Any%" would actually entail for this game.

I don't believe so? I could probably ask to see what the other ATV/MX runners think.

I noticed after making this post that you can't get through the career mode only doing National or Supercross races (you'll eventually be forced to do a couple supercrosses if you want to get to a good enough ranking to unlock the rest of the national races for example). Maybe because of this you could make a category like "All Nationals/Supercross Series NG+" or something.

Would be interesting to hear what other people think of the lap numbers. Personally i think 3 would be more fun just because it cuts a significant amount of time and repetition from the run, but if people prefer to stick with the default of 5 I'd be fine with that also.

Also there's the case of Race physics and Pro physics (which you unlock after getting rank 1 in career). You could potentially separate boards for those two.

On top of that, there's also the case of the different CCs of bikes (50cc - 500cc). You can't use 50cc or 500cc bikes in career mode though which is unfortunate, but maybe there could be some sort of misc category using those bikes idk.

Interested to hear what you think.

I decided to add the 3Lap category, I was told it wasn't that big a deal ^^

I was told these don't really matter in the long run, because I actually had them separated before the merge with the ATV boards. XD

I'm not sure what you mean by this, I must be missing something, care to elaborate?

While in the career menu, pressing square takes you to career options. In career options you can change the 'Driving Model' and the 'Number of Laps'. Once you achieve rank 1 by getting gold in all the events, you can change the Driving Model option to 'Pro Physics' (this replaces the default option of 'Race Physics'). Then you can re-do the career events with these new physics which are intended to make the game harder by making it easier to crash and harder to control the bike through more realistic physics.
