Differences in begginer route

I noticed all the routes posted in the guides use blue version. Is there any differences between red and blue for using said guide?

lots of differences, which category you talking about

I wanted to try practicing the catch em all (or the 151) route on 2ds vc

England

For 151, the route would be quite different for red due to different encounter slots. Also, the manips won't work due to you playing on the wrong game and console, all the manips assume blue on gba (or gambatte speedrun emulator)

OK. Thank you for the help on that. Is there any routes that do work well for red on 2ds?

As of now, every category uses some version of the RNG manip, but if you want to, you could do glitchless with no nido manip, moon manip, and cans manip. You could still get a run off using the beginner's guide in the guide section, but it would be significantly slower than the RNG manip route. If you have a PC, you should use Gambatte-Speedrun, which is located in the resources tab.

Is Gambette > BGB at this point? I had trouble when I first started trying to use Gambette like a year ago

Germany

Gambatte-Speedrun is the only allowed emulator for gen1 runs right now.

Germany

Was announced early february and took complete effect 1st of march. http://forums.pokemonspeedruns.com/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=703
