Greetings,
It came to my attention that the video provided by Razinuh, for the IL record of Deep in the Windy Valley was kind of suspicious. And the more I checked, the more I believe this run is not a 1:05.
First, at the very end, right before mario hits the tape, the timer actually moves. It could be some sort of graphical mistake, but it's really weird because when you go frame by frame, you see that the video is 60fps, but we can only see 30fps out of them. The timer actually moves during two identical frames.
Second, I remember when I speedran Buzzy: the book, the movie, the ride, I had a very hard time getting 24s because the timer actually continues 3 frames after you hit the pole. If you count the frames, mario hits the pole exactly 60 frames in the 434, but since the counter still goes for 3 more frames, it doesn't add up to a 434 but a 433.
Third! Just to be really sure, I opened my switch and tried to match the 434. Since the level is so linear it's not very hard to get a perfect time on it. And one thing that Razinuh doesn't seem to know is that you hit the pole 1 frame faster when you're big mario compared to small mario. Plus, that simili corner boost on the ceiling slope is not a thing, you can't gain time with this. Therefore I had one additional frame to spare over the runner, yet I've never been able to match his 434.
Therefore I strongly believe that we, unfortunately, have a cheater right there.
Thank you.
Greetings Wak017, thanks for reaching me.
First, the video is in 60fps bc i recorded 3 different videos using the switch clips, as i mention in the description of my YT video. It is only in 60fps, bc I had to copy the 3 videos, and paste them in my video editor, to export as a full video, with every clip going after another, to doesn't look as poorly edited and recorded, as various records out there.
Second, I knew that that celling clip wouldn't save me any frame, i just did it too look a smooth move, right after killing that goomba.
Third, the timer does not move, for "2-4" frames. I even used Livesplit to measure how much time it would've got around 4,99X. You can test it by yourself.
Fourth, I did not knew that with the big mushroom you can save a frame at the goal, and don't know either if it's true, or just an excuse from you. Either way, i am gonna record a second WR take without using the switch clips sent to my editor. Just don't go around calling other cheaters without talking directly to them. If you think this record is "fake", you can ask me to remove the record, or to private my video. I will delete it either way, but you can still download the video if you want tho.
Any grammatical error is because I'm portuguese.
Also convincing but again I don’t run the game so my input is pretty much useless
yeah, i removed it, but will post again, directly from the switch so that guy won't call me cheater
I'm sorry to tell you Razinuh but destroying pieces of evidence is not something someone with nothing to hide would do. If you can please make your video available, again, I would gladly show you where the timer moves.
you didn't even saw the video on yt, it had a description explaining everything, comments asking questions, and you just assume I am cheating by thinking it past X,999 time? U didn't even had a timer to measure it
You can simply go frame by frame in a video and calculate 60 frames my dude. The last second of your video exceeded the 60 frames. Again, put it available again and I'll show you.
that's right. I record every 30s of gameplay using the switch clips, remove the sd card from the console, and insert it in my computer to paste every video in order together to make a full run. that's why very short trim are noticed among every video. but apparently some people think that it is cheating a wr. sometimes i also publish them on twitter, download them with my pc, and edit it (just make the watermark and put the videos in the correct order)
@Razinuh Is that the same case with Windy Valley ? Did you clip once again at the end of the run ?
I understand but edit a video during a run can be interpret like a cheat. Because we don't know if the 2nd clip had been created during another try and you join them.
Can you do a run without editing ? (if you doesn't have a capture card. With a phone or something).
no, i used the clips during the pipes transitions. i don't want to waste 200€ on a screen recorder tho, this is my only option to keep the speedruns. unless if i record the screen directly pointing at the switch, but i think it will be very ugly and gotta be careful with reflection, and the screen brightness. thats why i rather using switch clips. seems more profissional
I think it would be fine if he tied his edited run with a phone pointed at a TV.
okey im absolutely out about this topic, but @Kevin700P for the video of @Razinuh that you send, i am maybe wrong, but i try it other times, and i am pretty sure that, at least in my switch, there is more time of video betwen 2 consecutive clips that get lost in the midle than the video lost in that video lmao there is a gap of like a third of a second, my gaps are bigger lol have to check things
