in story mode you can do a new game but keep the characters levels, so a lv0 character is much much weaker than lv10 character. a lv10 character has 3 ninja powers and extra HP, making it unfair to compare it, so either make a category rule to only allow lv10 characters which are gonna be the fastest, or split story mode to lv0 and lv10. there is potential for routing lv0 as you level up and get extra powers.
Story mode in my opinion shouldnt even be a category at all, arcade is enough. Story mode has too many issues with ruleset not to mention the 3 bars of meter, just a mess of a category!
Imo Arcade should be fine. The only thing i could think of for story mode would be a all-collectible %. im not a fan of the 0lvl untill the devs gives us the option for a new save file (i dont want to loose my lvl 10 chars)
i prefer story mode over arcade due to how much faster you can plow through certain bosses with the 2 extra specials not to mention being able to utilize radical mode. the whole point of story mode is that you can utilize level 10 characters while arcade is just vanilla. i definetly wouldn't say it's a mess of a category. also to add to routing a lvl0 story, there really isn't much to route in that regard. you almost get to level 10 just by completing the story pretty much and thats without doing any challenges or special requests.
I'm for story mode to remain in. It is akin to a "New Game plus" mode. And that's how it should be viewed as, IMO.
And I have to admit I'm pretty uncomfortable with this "I don't like it, therefore it shouldn't exist!" stance some people have on that. Don't like it? Don't run it. Simple as that. Let others who enjoy it run it.
I think Story Mode runs with the full level 10 characters as a New Game Plus sounds super fun.
Are there ways to route story mode in such a way that leveling up the turtle becomes faster? Like through the challenges and such? Either way I think that story mode should stay but be either split into new game/ new game+ , only problem being that might end up creating too many categories and then there'll be some dead space in the categories
