Timing clarification

I was recently talking with @Wuzi about the way to time the runs as it is not clear in the rules when to stop the time. While I stop the time at the frame when Xolan touches the sign post, he stops the time at the frame the screen starts to fade out. Which way do you think we should do it?

It should be when you lose control of Xolan. Which means once he touches the signpost and starts walking on his own. Does that make sense?

What if you jump to the finish? Then he starts to walk later.

So at a certain point when crossing the signpost, you lose control of Xolan and that's exactly when the timer stops. If you jump across that same point, that is also when the timer stops. Yes that means the time stops while Xolan is airborne. This image should show where this point is:

The player loses control of him when any part of Xolan crosses into this red shaded area. Hopefully that helps.

Ok, thank you for the clarification

Also though. When exactly dpes the timer begin. The second you skip the cutscene or when the level is loaded up and ready to be played?

Kent, England

Timer starts when control of character gained, though that can be difficult to pinpoint

Time starts the exact moment the screen stops being absolutely black, as it is the same moment you gain control of the character

Thank you. That clears it up.
