Alright, after seing a lot of leaderboards without rules, i think it's about time to post what i think in there.

I think rules for categories should be REQUIRED, like, obligatory even. I mean come on, it's speedruns, if there's no rules how can anyone even submit runs ? It doesn't even make any sense.

Also it's like peoples just submit runs without telling the rules, so they're sure no one will try to get the WR. I feel like putting a leaderboard or category on this site without putting ANY rules shouldn't be a thing at all, if you make a leaderboard you should ALTEAST put some effort at telling about the rules before even submitting any run.

Spanish region flags of Castilla La-Mancha and Castilla y León are switched (I think I reported this via Twitter long ago but the flags are still wrong).

I agree with xDrHellx, many game community have rules that aren't simply implied (like banning the usage of deaths, resets, certain versions, etc.).

That being stated, it should be up to the moderators to make the leaderboard reflect this, so they would be first place to ask, though in its current form without PM's, it's very hard to contact some leaderboard moderators as well.

Would it be possible for rejected runs to be hidden on the awaiting verification page after a certain amount of time? As of now for me they stack up on that page and stay there unless I delete the run, but the run only needs to stay until the person has seen the notification and knows it has been rejected and why. (Not sure if this is plausible but I thought I'd post it anyway)

Clicking on the new 'Show old' button will show all of them (i.e. like before).

Double posting wasn't really needed, but fixed.

@Kotti, I posted about this in Site Bugs as well. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Would there be a way to distinguish between whether a game sidebar resource (Such as Guides, Resources etc) is empty or not (Probably by colour?)

I've been adding to a few of these and hopefully more, and it made me realise that I assume most are empty until I check them. Having a separate colour before I click to let me know that there is something there would make me more willing to check it out, easier access etc

I had a strange bug today and it's not the first time this issue happens, i'm submitting a run which is verified but apparently the record isn't showed on the "Latest runs" board...

[/quote] I'm not sure what run you mean. Your only recent run I think is in Free Running 2 and that shows up on the front page just fine.

Please add someone to the credits on the about page so the boxes are aligned again BibleThump http://www.speedrun.com/about

The Guides and Resources links in the game sidemenu will now be marked as empty if they are. Wasn't sure if the Forum link should be marked as well, so it isn't right now.

Also the boxes on the about page are aligned now.

Here is my thread: http://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/0xphf

I would like this to have just my posts. Anything anybody wants to say about what I post should be in a comment section type of thing underneath each individual post. Basically instead of continuing the thread, anybody who wants to contribute can leave a reply to the day's post. I would like every comment on there that isn't in the format of a daily post to be moved to a comment/reply section within each post.

@Neksus : This has already been requested to put mods instead of romhacks. However, I think it's up to SourceRuns to ask for a page design, not you.

Jumpyluff, that's a pretty big forum update necessary to add that functionality. i_o_l: I'll leave that up to Lighnat0r to prioritize or respond to. My opinion is essentially the same as it was, but some things were changed since then, so there could be additional overhead or concerns related to it.

Neksus: I've been pushing for an update to handle this, but it's not simple. Any hackish solution to this for the short term will just set us backwards in my opinion. Rom hacks are handled suboptimally on the site currently as it is.

Short version: I want the following tags for games (probably more)

  • rom hack
  • mod
  • fangame
  • homebrew

and I'd also like the front page and search bar to be able filter those items out through user profile settings.
