Run doesnt appear on leaderboard

Hi,

I submitted a run for Speed Racer and it was verified https://www.speedrun.com/Street_Racer/run/zg7w39vz but it hasn't appeared on the leaderboard. Do I need to do something else for this to happen?

you have to go down to driver in the filter menu and click on any, even though it is already on any... I think this may be a bug or something idk

It's not a bug, just a mistake (I guess) on the mod's side. I create a post on the games forum regarding it, hopefully he fixes it

Correct. The issue is that the extra variables he's made have one of the options marked as "Default." For whatever reason on variables/subcategories, this causes all the runs not marked with the "default" subcategory to not show, but only if you don't set the variable as a "Use as subcategory." If you mark the "Default" option for a Category, it doesn't do that, it just makes the option that first available in the box for submitting a run (instead of using the drop box to change it).

The Default option does what it says: use the default to filter the leaderboard. subcategories work exactly the same, they're not different in any point - you only see the default when you arrive at the board. even on the submission form, they're the same - subcategories have to have a default by nature, so you get that selected in the dropbox by default. if you put a variable on as default, it'll also get selected and put into the dropbox.

I made a mistake in my wording on something a little bit confusing, but I think we are on the same page.

Yeah, I can see how people run into the confusion there, I wish I had a great way to quickly explain it.

When creating a variable, if one of the variables is set to "default" and the option for "use as subcategory" is not selected, then all variables that aren't the default one are filtered out. If none of the variables is set to "default" and the option for "use as subcategory" is not selected, it will list all runs despite any given variable unless manually filtered out. If one of the variables is set to "default" and the option for "use as subcategory" is selected, it will put the runs under subcategory lists separately. For this option, the "default" check mark is just making that variable that first to show up in run submission dropbox field. And, using a subcategory requires a default.

I think the confusion comes when someone first tries to create a variable that isn't a subcategory because the first variable you create in the list is automatically default and they didn't check the [?], then they add a couple more variables and then save the game edit. Then when there are runs with different variables but they don't see them all show on the lb like they do on other lb's, they are confused as to why that is. So I think that's why I see this question come every so often. Luckily, it's a pretty easy fix (if they weren't wanting runs to be filtered by the default variable) and doesn't require any editing of runs or anything.

I've got the reverse problem. I've got verified runs that are on their respective leader boards, but they don't appear among my runs on my profile.

Can you link some of these runs? Would be easier for us to help you then.

@Lieutenant_Boo Full-Game Runs and IL Runs are listed separately on the profile, see: https://www.speedrun.com/user/Lieutenant_Boo/individual_levels

Don't really know anything about the game, but they I'm guessing since there are a bunch of separate games with the same objective involved, it was just easier and looked nicer as a list of individual levels opposed to a slew of categories.

Ah. Yeah. That makes sense. Thanks.
