Maybe it's possible in Cap. I know that if you clip to get the First Moon in Cascade before grabbing the Checkpoint, you would be soft locked except maybe with a save and reset.

I stopped the timer as soon as the softlock was activated. I think thats the best way to time it, in case a faster softlock is found.

The one I was talking about was using a clip to get the First Moon with the rock still active and without checkpoints to warp to. That might be faster, but I wouldn't know.

I did a run in 4:16 I think this should be added to the leaderboard as many other category extensions have a softlock category and as this is a short category with a clear end goal. The only difficultly here with the rules is when to end timing. I personally think it should be when Mario stops walking. If a different early softlock is discovered, we can edit the rules accordingly.

@DryYoshi It makes more sense for the timer to end when the softlock is activated, or when no input can stop it from happening. So for this softlock, it's when mario starts walking. With that timing, you'd have 4:14.
