Here's how i do it. Here's how the cutscene ends for me. Your issue could be not moving the monster from the first instance out of the way before starting monster the second time. I doubt it though.

Edit: Reading the last two posts. I'll just double-post. :P

Despite those times being precise, they are freaking guesses. What this means is that proper timing would be nice. Edit: the original said "despite those times being accurate, they are freaking guesses" - I am a GTA genius! Kappa

Duping Monster vs. Duping High Jack and Verdant Meadows

Duping High Jack and Verdant Meadows 1:15: Last Flight to Monster using heli [ Monster ] 4:00 after Monster: wasted warp -> take Toreno call, buy Zero, drive Ambulance to Blood Bowl and boat, then to High Jack 5:30: High Jack 3:15: using NRG from garage, then boat: High Jack -> Blood Bowl -> Verdant Meadows _ 14:00

Duping Monster 3:00: after Last Flight: using heli, detour to [ first take Toreno call and then ] get Zero property for duping call 0:30: Monster duping stuff 1:00: take both calls in the desert 6:00: Interdiction with crappy vehicles (5:00 with NRG) -0:15: faster (than Toreno's Washington) drive to Verdant Meadows 3:30: N.O.E. -0:15: faster Stowaway _ 13:30

On the other hand, maybe All-Proof Heli LV/desert Hype. ^^ If we park the All-Proof heli that duped Toreno's Last Flight gives us for free inside the Doherty garage (it comes in handy that it cannot be broken since it is all-proof - but it is still hard). We then take it after High Jack and park it in the air strip hangar. Unfortunately, we have to waste time to keep it after Intensive Care (by taking a detour during Meat Business to drive to it) and during The Meat Business (getting a throwaway vehicle at the end of the mission from a parking space, driving the last meters to the casino and after the mission, running to the heli). On the other hand it saves time for the various detours to outside save points to get calls, the first part of LV where we want to use a heli anyways. It also means that we do not have to worry about surprise road blocks.

Nice cutscene skipping, Reset. ^^ It only had one frame to live. BibleThump Thanks for helping, unfortunately, no revelations here. :( I now use two mouse wheels, so the start got a bit more consistent. At the end I still get the sudden pass and one instance getting stuck like last time - I cannot replicate your interruption of the tutorial guy at the very start. Maybe I could if I were more motivated. But since I am way off the consistency required for it to make sense to use it ...

Edit: Mew, having your scm would be useful, anyways. Tbh, I am not sure what version this is - it is probably v1.0... The downgrader is called "Micronensoft Downgrade Patch" or something along those lines.

I'm not sure why you cant get it consistent. I just did it 10 times in a row.. I checked and it looks like you have about 20 frames to skip the cutscene upon starting the mission the second time. If there's a chance it will soft lock/pass once nobody will want to do it anyway.

I only suggested it because I though you wouldn't dupe high jack with 4¤ lv :D

main.scm right?

Thanks. I am looking into this at this moment. Mashing Alt and LMB is more consistent than using the mouse wheel. Maybe I roll it too fast when it matters (the few frames I want to skip the cs) - it is not intuitive to roll slowly to skip quickly but rolling too quickly looks like holding it to the game. But still it is by far not perfect - might be fixable with practice but I know that it can still softlock if I skip it the 2nd or 3rd frame (forgot).

toreno1 and desert - the Monster and mission starter threads are identical. But they are also identical between my modded and my running version (the latter being v2) and I sometimes get "Monster was destroyed" text in v2 but never in v1, iirc.

A few minutes later.... Anyways, thanks for helping but I am giving up for now. Double bs for a glitch that might be obsolete...

High Jack with the bridge I showed above is fine, maybe you are forced to use analog or mouse wheel controls to make the extremely minor adjustments, though. I can see people falling into the water because they insist on A/D.... Or maybe they are just that good at tapping those for milliseconds.

Edit: For Blood Bowl, you could use gaining control earlier to blow yourself up quicker and very consistently with the guys standing next to you. But then you receive the call right afterwards and have to it and wait for another one.

The alternative is to hold the call: when pause buffering, as soon as it rings, release Esc, if it is paused unpause and then hold shift. As soon as you are on fire or a bit earlier, release shift. The recall timer is now reset and if you timed it right, it will reach 10000 or so when you respawn outside.

Intensive Care despawns the heli the moment it passes, so to keep it, we would have to use the air strip hangar... I guess we will just use it until Don Peyote then.

Another edit: I just confirmed that you can use catalina troll calls for Blood Bowl setup dupes by holding the call from the moment it starts.

Its nice that those calls can give you an "unfair" advantage in missions. I tried doing exactly what is done on this video but for 8-track instead and it was really cool getting to the 1st position while the others are still stopped. I know the main focus of this topic is getting rid of traffic but I wonder, what other races you could get "unfair" advantage. I guess you can get this advantage on the mission Farewell my Love (race Badlands B) since you can just walk in the marker but not sure if you can on Wu Zi Mu since you have to enter the marker driving a car. About other races I am not sure either since after going to the marker you have too choose which race you wish to start. This could be an opportunity to break many "legit" records, which I find really cool, not sure if the owners of those would agree though.

Since BB clears the wanted level every frame you can even dupe it easily when SF is not unlocked yet. That is useful for LS ILs.

Edit: Mission cleanup list size was wrong, I changed it from 50 to 75. [thanks, Nick]

Technical details on why this ghost town glitch works, not too important.

I have not verified it, it just sounds very plausible to me.

[5:23 PM] Patrick: This must be how Blood Bowl duping causes Ghost Town: The way the game gets rid of mission entities (vehicles, actors, objects) is that it adds them to the mission cleanup list. On mission failure, mission cleanup is executed, turning them all into traffic/random peds. However, only 75 entities have place on the list, therefore, the entities spawned from that point on are not added, they stay mission entities, and therefore do not despawn easily).

How do a bunch of mission vehicles cause ghosttown? There is a limit on how many cars/peds the game wants to spawn at a time. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the details.

Since they are not saved in savegames, they vanish on loading. [Unlike VC/III, according to Nick. He also gets the main credits since he has written facts and now I speculate on it.]

However, set_vehicle_density exists. Madd Dogg sets it to 2.0. Hence, you get traffic spawns in that mission.

How I verified that mission vehicles are not saved in savegames.
I removed 00D8: MISSION_HAS_FINISHED from Outrider and played that mission up until getting into the Washington. I then failed it. I verified that it is still a mission vehicle by 1) trying to despawn it after getting into a few more cars - it stayed 2) popping a tyre and parking it into the garage - it ignored it (evident by the tyre still being popped) - most likely because garages ignore mission vehicles.

Finally, I saved and reloaded. The vehicle was not saved, it was gone.
I decided to write a more concise version describing the ghost town trick. General points about the setup

 • You can do it as soon as you have calls available (after Big Smoke).

 • The basic description of what you nees to do is that you need to start Bloodbowl together with a call twice and then start it again normally. Finally, fail by running out of time. If it says "Mission Failed" before then (before the third time you start the mission), you lose all your progress and have to start over at the very beginning. --- The first two times you have to blow yourself up (since you do not want to fail the mission, yet). --- The last time you have to let the timer run out (since you want to fail the mission at thst point).

 • Saving and reloading ends the "ghost town".

 • So does FILEUNBITTEN (blowup cheat)

 • Dying/getting wasted does not.

The steps in more detail Video for reference Prepararion) [Only needed before The Green Sabre completion] Get an om0 call using 8-track and start Bloodbowl with it (from that point on, your wanted level stays 0 for as long as it matters).

1st Bloodbowl) Crash into your left neighbour and block his right so that he drives straight into the wall, eventually. There you can kill him easily. ( 0:20 in the video ) 2nd Bloodbowl) You have to equip your SMG before starting the mission, else you cannot kill yourself. There is a stuck car at the place you did your first suicide. Use that one. ( 1:20 in the video ) 3rd Bloodbowl) Do not suicide, fail by running out of time. You do not need onmission0 (a call) this time, unlike what my video suggests).
