They've always been kinda dead categories with little active competition, save for VC all missions at some points. This is not my category though, it is yours, so I'm willing to see what the best way to unmisc it would be, because from what I gather it's a pretty important thing for those who are running it, even though I don't think that'd affect the category's existence. I'm not settling with S's decision as being the final decision, and I won't reverse it either, but discussing changes is better than just acting so I'll be on hold.

That was the point of my two previous posts which you called ''bickering'', i was the only competition for Any% until the dupes which killed it for many people, which is why this category is even a thing, the best way to unmisc it is if you'd use your head and realize that you're against us, not the opposite.

I've been trying to ''work'' with this community for years and the only way to get your point accross is to be aggressive, and everyone else is also realizing this now even more.

I'll explain one last time what the solutions are if you couldn't tell by what everyone else was also saying this far. The solutions are simple and noone listens.

1 - Remove duping from Any%, the only runs that have it are Josh's, Omega, lel reset and you. ''run this version or you're a dumb person, so don't run the game'' isn't fair. If you're going to say it also isn't fair, then miscing the time and effort of AM across the trilogy also isn't fair.

Trevor% on V seems like it will also get removed, so if that's possible i dont see why this shouldn't be.

2- Unmisc AM so it can become more competitive again there, so everyone has an actual chance.

Everyone agrees duping is bad, annoying. It is also legitimately unfair because several people run other versions than 1.0, since there is no controller support on it, it's unstable and etc.

The game was fine for what it is before duping, if all of these points are agreed upon, it makes no sense as to why the community shouldn't do something good for a change.

This is a legit argument. I seen you've been watching Tirean "Mh" and hearing all the bs about duping and how nobody wants to run it backs the facts that SA is dying and nobody is trying to do anything to revive it. I'm about to be done with this like several people have before me. I only care to run Trilogy at this point, OHKO and 100% at this point.

How often is that gonna happen? Much less than "All Missions" would and this isn't attacking "AM." That would be counterproductive. I'm just trying to make a point I have no interest in running Any% anymore and if the interest in "AM" goes down the toilet i'll have little reason/interest to run the game at all.

I did say that having it misc wouldn't prevent competition from happening necessarily but yeah sure, let's unmisc it for now and see what happens. If more people run it as a result, then all is well. If nothing happens, then experiment failed and I would want to make it misc again. I'll go with 2-3 months, to see what to do next. If some other mod wants to intervene with my decision then they can.

Also Crook, thing that happened with VC was, people kept complaining about the dupes and look at where it is now. People went to claim their free PBs and then most just straight-up quit. Good to see that you're trying something to prevent that with happening here, even though to be honest a lot of the actual runners haven't been against duping. (not all, just a lot)

How will it increase everyones chance to run AM if it will be simply moved from misc to unmisc? YOU ARE JUST MOVING A CATEGORY FROM ONE TAB TO ANOTHER. It doesnt affect speedrunning at all, those who will want to run it, will run it. Changing placement in a god damn website doesn't affect quality or anything else related to speedrunning.

Same goes for duping, why would anyone remove duping from the game if it helps achieve faster times? Isn't that the point of speedrunning - finishing the game as fast as possible?

It doesn't matter if people think duping is annoying, unstable whatever, it's a speedrun. The goal of a speedrun is to finish the game as fast as possible, using glitches, tricks whatever to do so. This isn't me backing up the community because I'm apart of it, this is me saying that speedrunning is about going fast.

If you want an explanation tho how legit does a category look to a "viewer" of the site if it's hidden? It doesn't look good and some of you guys don't realize the category being main influences what people "want to watch." This isn't even about just running it. It's also about the viewers, the entertainment value. What is entertaining about a hidden category nobody knows about and how does it encourage people to run it?

Let's be real here. One of the reasons people can even handle SA is because of the chat. If chat goes retard mode because they're not properly informed this is a legit category that's how you get "this is a meme category" or more importantly how you get "you can't prove your time" because people think it's a joke. Yes, I had that as well after my first run.

Most of you don't even run these games, you don't know what's what, i bet you don't even know what All Missions consists of, you're just spewing useless shit around that is agreed upon by the bigger streamers.

Can someone please clarify for me how the extra click to show Misc categories completely stops people from wanting to run the category altogether?

I mean the category still exists right? If you want to run it, then run it.

But because its not a main category you won't get the viewers or recognition for WRs? Is that what I am missing? If that is the case I am not sure there is much ground to stand on to demand the mods to change anything.
