Okay, I've logged on the past few days and saw some changes done to run categories but now I see that some of my World Records have been changed to being 15th place, 6th place, 3rd place? What is the deal here? I feel like if something gets verified as a WR it should stay that way unless beaten manually and with the record in mind. They merged SD and HD online together which is a poor decision IMO because HD is the PAL version of the game, thus making SD and HD two seperate games and should not be mixed thus so. This all just doesn't seem fair to do, or even logical. Hopefully a mod can see this and I can see the response given because as of now I am shocked to see this happen to a game that has been being run for over 10 years now, because these are not small changes. SD and HD should remain separate because they are technically and literally TWO DIFFERENT GAMES under the same title.
Making a level leaderboard was a good change as it made certain runs automatically count towards something else (if someone used Nightmare in Extra Arcade mode it counted towards Nightmare Extra Arcade category and an Extra Arcade category) which is fine because it does not take away from the category someone originally intended the run to be on and uploaded it to. This only adds more runs and I woke up planning to do runs for these specific level categories. But when i saw this change that wasn't there last night to merge SD and HD into one thus taking away from runners like myself who recorded, practiced, and uploaded runs to a SPECIFIC category (I did not do runs of the SD version of the game, which again is a completely different version of the game with character, stat, hitbox, and load time differences, I did runs for Soulcalibur II HD online.) Having an HD section made sense and gave equal opportunity for people to run different versions of a game that has been popular for over 10 years. I HIGHLY disagree with such a drastic change especially when considering that people have already accepted and pursued runs that were understandably in 2 separate categories because they are 2 different games. The change makes no sense and I think we should keep the level leaderboard change while also keeping HD and SD two separate categories. This just makes sense and I hope a mod sees this and can agree. Sorry I should have made an updated post, but it happened yesterday. Seeing as Arcade goes by IGT and the others only Weapon Master would be affected by the HD version. It did not make sense to have SD/HD for categories that use IGT. Yeah different games, but again merging them with the exception of Weapon Master does not make sense.
If anything I think the games should be split based on console versions, because Spawn is clearly capable of destroying world records in any category, putting anyone who doesn't own an Xbox at an extreme disadvantage. If I wasn't such a broke motherfucker I'd go out and buy one right now lol. He's that good.
I had that idea too or do a subcategory like SD/HD called No Guests/Guests. That way it can also help reduce the placements SOB didn't like with everyone else. And so as to have Gamecube players compete with others and so on.
