Generally accepted emulators

Is there a list somewhere of emulators for each system that are usually accepted for runs? Right now, I'm specifically wondering what's acceptable for NES, SNES, Genesis & Game Gear, but having a full list for future reference would be handy.

I think generally Nestopia, Snes9X, and Kega Fusion are used, but check the game rules as it should display which emulators are allowed and if not I would ask in the forums

Every game/community has its own rules regarding emulation and what emulators (if any) are allowed. There is no definitive list.

Based on what I've seen so far for games I've done...

NES: FCEUX/Nestopia/puNES/Mesen SNES: Snes9x 1.53 and beyond GB/GBC: Gambatte/bgb GBA: Bizhawk with mGBA core Genesis: GPGX/Blast em/Kega Fusion Arcade: WolfMAME

That is a very general sense of what works but it will still come down to a game to game case. Starfox outright bans emulation completely for instance. There is no 1 answer really, you just have to ask the people in charge of the game you want to run.

Thanks! Most of the games I've been looking at don't have any rules listed regarding emulators (with at least one game having a thread about the topic go unanswered), so I was mainly looking for emulators that are typically allowed in games that do post restrictions. I'd like to avoid having any runs retroactively removed due to using the wrong emulator.
