hey, anyone have any suggestions for categories they'd like to see? I won't put up any categories involving PvP but otherwise I'm open for most things that make sense

1v0 Victory.

100%. Destroy all the buildings on the opponent's side of the map.

I only have 2 friends so a 3V0 category would be nice and we where planning to do some "fun" runs this week

Why no 5v5 victory? I think thats the most interesting category

I think a lvl25 rush would be fun bassically same format as 1v0 but you try to get level 25 as quickly as possible rather than destroy ancient.

When are we adding <All Trees>? It's the most legit category of all.

It's far less pointless and arbitrary than a midas speedrun, that's for sure.

Theres around 5k trees in the map. Considering they respawn every 4 minutes. -maths- 4200 aghs + 800 soulring + 2000 travels + clarities + tangoes + qb and that's the minimum amount of stuff you actually will need. You play 1v0, so you can't get extra gold from killing heroes. You farm ~2k every 5 minutes if you will not miss ANY single creep(aka 80@10m.) That's only 15 minutes of PURE FARM and nothing less.

Now imagine how much gold would you need to get mana to sustain double chakram(200 mana initial), into travels/teleport scroll every 10 seconds or so.

This may be fun, but it takes a LOT of time. Plus - reddit wants memes, not a decent challenge.

hey, I also would like to see a "reach lvl25" cathegory. I've tried to run soem cathegories for dota 2 but ist just to hard for me to get the strategies to work. as they are all very short runs the risks you take are quite high (maybe I'm just bad at dota ^^). I would hope that a lvl25 cathegory would be a more doable cathegory to run. It would also be nice to route and everything...

I'm not sure if that's gonna be a decent category tbh.

1. It relies on killing the creeps as fast as possible, denying the major part of the game mechanics.
2. The category is too long, considering Dota never and (probably) never will have >2 runners, especially with most of the runs being unoptimized. 1v0, Solo Roshan Kill, 100LH+D are pretty optimized right now, so it takes a really big amount of practice to get good at these ones, but it's worth it.
3. It's a huge problem, that Dota doesn't provide any good categories for longer runs. All Buildings is just a longer version of 1v0, All Trees seems like a farm fiesta as Timber (to sustain manapool and use both chakrams), All Heroes is boring (because of the Armlet), 10 Heroes seasonal might be a decent idea, but again, seasonal runs require atleast 5-10 active runners, and we don't have even 3 atm.

Make a run, i'll see what i can do. Maybe i'm just wrong about the run theorycraft in general.

you can freely ask about strats me or Meka. Also lvl25 will be probbly on Sven - MoM farm then jungle till 25

Thanks, but the problem I have is to predict ai behaviour as good as I would need to get a good time for rosh runs. Probably gonna give up this cathegory.

For lvl 25 I was rather thinking about meepo farming all lanes and jungeling...

Meepo is the hero for the run, but Brood might be better. Either way, make the run.
