Leaderboards moderation requests thread

The mods are inactive for Motherload and I'd like to take over moderating the game. I have runs from over a month ago still waiting to be verified. Zero response to forum posts I made asking if the moderators are still online.

I want to add a new mode to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Beginner Circuits, and I would like to moderate as well because our current mods aren't very active.

I was interested in becoming moderator of 60 Seconds Burger Run. There is nothing against the current moderators but it is the type of game I like to play and I think I could add cool categories. Hopefully you can take this into consideration. Sincerely, xakrae

@xarkae

I can see why you thought this was the right place given the topic title, but if you read the first post you'd see that that's really not what this topic is for. Take it up directly with the game mods, they are both active on this site and elsewhere.

@ staff Could it help if the topic title was changed to "Report problematic or inactive mods here"? Or something?

What is the best way to talk to the moderators when you are not a mod yourself?

Post in the game’s forum and/or reach out to the mods via their social media links on their profile.

@Liv Thanks, he's reached out to me now and expressed interest in making me a moderator for the game.

@kirkq: The main moderators have resigned and the others are inactive as far as I can tell, so discussing it with them would be fruitless.

No worries, there was a discussion about it and they are actively against it, but since the majority of them have just left and the game is pretty much dead now as I was one of the most active runners I thought I may as well get the 100% on the board since its been done.

But thank you for getting in touch and I will see what they come back with.

That's fair enough, just see how it goes, I only decided to get in on the page since no one has ran that game in several months and that was the only reason they didn't want the 100%.

@CaptNikolai Please do not assume that we are inactive if you have made no attempt to contact any of us (Discord would be the best option, though it seems that you've left the Digimon speedrunning channel, Twitter is also a good option though). Thanks.

I wanted to know if it's possible for me to Moderate for the "Gundam Series" of games.

I already Moderate for two Gundam Games in the Gundam Series of games "Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon" and "Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam" and I was going to ask a Moderator for the series if it was possible to make the series page more aesthetically pleasing by adding in a Series Logo & Background to the page and to ask their opinions about the viability of creating a few new leaderboards for a few Gundam Games that aren't currently listed but personally had interests in running, that is until I realized that the Gundam Series page didn't have any Mods to inquire to at all.

@Liv Oh if that's the case is there a separate forum to give the site mods to submit all the prospected interests of those within the community for the series moderators after it's been decided between those that are actively part of community?

Because I already sent messages to the most active members & mods of the community earlier today after noticing that discrepancy, and after cross-checking over the messages sent back to me & seeing those who responded, and keeping track of those who were willing to volunteer their free time to look over the Gundam series overall instead of just the games they already moderate & speedrun, we were able to nominate a few mods besides myself that are notably active participants in the Gundam Speedrun community as part of an effort to help revitalize it and encourage more participation.

hey, so, the Mod for Air-Sea Battle for the 2600 is the same mod for the game Cubot. I received mod for cubot due to his inactivity on my runs, and now I've run air-sea battle as well. the runs have only been pending for a few days, but the mod has been inactive for 22 and is not responding to anything on twitter. If I need to wait longer that's fine as well, just seeing if I can speed up the process.

Hi, can I request be made mod for Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego for Genesis?. I contacted the previous mod since he had been away for 6 months from the site, he approved my run and deleted his account. The game has no mods right now.

Requesting the removal of dragondarch and kmac as mod from the Castlevania (NES) leaderboard. While kmac has verified a few runs a long time ago, I believe it was just his times and any time that beat his. He's been very inactive with the game as of late and has never really been active on SRC beside that aforementioned verification. Dragondarch doesn't run the game, or at least has never posted a time to the leaderboard. I don't think he's ever verified a run either, though I have no clue.

I mostly bring this up because one of the four mods (not me or joedamillio) has made rules changes without a word to anyone. And while they're mostly little paranoid SDA tier adjustments, I find it annoying to have things changed randomly without a word from Dragondarch.

@Komrade Since Kmac is inactive I can remove them at your request. For Dragon though, I feel this is better communicated to him since he is active on the site and all, I don't really want this to turn into a 'Why am I demodded? Nothing was communicated with me and I'm not inactive.' situation.

Yeah that's fine there was apparently a misunderstanding with who actually edited the rules I guess lmao :^)
