Claire B strat looks good, shame you have to drop the pistol though.

Reloading with the elevator glitch has been done before and is probably the fastest way.

I havn't seen that Claire B strat before, is it consistant? It seems like it would be around 2 seconds slower at a minimum (1 shot + extra turning for the 2nd item box). Since the 2nd floor is the biggest run killer on Claire B I think this is a great strat to prevent resets and those 2 seconds can be gained elsewhere in the scenario. Like Mr X dodge before train Kappa

Hello !

My bad, I never had this strategy on Leon B, I should have looked better.

Yes clair B strategy is not the fastest, but the safest. The shot separates the two zombies and dodges them more easily, at the expense of about 2 seconds actually.

The dodge of Mr. X before the train also slowed down the progression and is not really necessary, because it is possible to finish the scenario without heal with this hit. (1 punch by Mr.X and 2 hit by Licker in labo and stay Fine)

Thx for watching !

cuts the audio animation when ada heals the leon during the black screen. (alt + tab to go to livesplit, then alt + tab to return to the game) save 2sec.

I don't know how consistent this is but I have seen the same thing in one of my runs. I clicked out to chat then clicked back during the blank screen and saved around 2 seconds, same as the above. Have you tested it more than once?

I feel like this would fall under abusing the in-game timer though. You can cut out dialogue midway through cutscenes which affects time. I forgot how much, but Supergamer brought it up when he discovered that turning off the sound made all the doors fast.

Write in French, more easy for me.

I've tried to explain my side to the Silent Hill community before when a similar kind of abusive IGT mechanic was revealed, and I believe the same kind of logic applies here.

You're still essentially using an outside intervention to affect the game's state of progress. As in, you're using your mouse and operating system to purposely alter how the game's IGT acts. These are not functions in the game itself. Nothing in the game itself will pause the IGT, it's leaving the game to do something on your OS that pauses it.

Another example would be, say I am playing Resident Evil REmake on PS4 and I suddenly need to go do something for a few minutes, so I boot up my PS4's dashboard by pressing the PS-home to pause the game's IGT and go do my thing, then come back and resume. That would be counted as cheating, yes? I'm using the PS4 OS and the console itself to manipulate how the game functions to my advantage whilst also giving myself extra time to think outside of the game's state. This is the same exact thing, you're "leaving" the game state. I don't see why PC should be treated any differently, just because it "speeds the game up".

In an RTA setting there's the potential this would be allowed, but when we're using IGT and the IGT is merely used as a direct, fair coorelation between your result and your performance in what ¤matters¤ in the run, you kind of invalidate the very reason IGT is even used. We use IGT because without stuff like this it is 100% fair. Include stuff like this, and all you do is bring it more into question and make PC look less appealing to anyone. I said it before when a similar situation in RE1 occured and we chose to ban it for maintaining the integrity of the IGT; IGT abuse like this is why almost all communites try to opt for RTA nowadays.
