Hi, I'm not really sure how active this game is to run but I've been learning it recently and I was wondering if a separate leaderboard could be added for restartless tournament speedruns? I've noticed a majority of the runs here go by IGT and you're free to restart a track as many times as you want until you get a good time, but I personally enjoy doing a run all in one go.

Also, maybe a leaderboard for Mirrored as well? I might give that a go as well once I get better with the strats in this game.

restarting races completely ruins the point of a full game run and just makes it segmented and the fact that it isn't banned entirely still surprises me. At the very least true single segment runs that don't use restarts shouldn't be forced to compete with the runs that use restarts to void the whole point of a full game speedrun and should be separate at the very least.

Honestly I'm not too bothered by having the restart runs we have currently; I'm not really looking to fight what's already been established well before me, but I do agree it does kinda ruin the point of a speedrun and I hope we get another leaderboard.

I too think that Tournament runs should in principle be done without restarts, obviously it'd be a bit rough to just go and delete established runs that use restarts, but I'd personally be a huge advocate of having a seperate restartless category.

Being allowed to restart in Tournament mode makes it a category in which your placement only comes down to how many times you want to restart for that perfect level, making it a competition of who wants to pour more time into a single run.

This is obviously discouraging to a lot of potential new runners and is therefore hindering the popularity of the game where speedrunning is concerned.

Over time there's always been a pretty active bunch asking for a restartless category for Tournament in the past and I think the time has come to finally add that category. All runs have to be recorded, so it's easy to enforce and maybe it might bring some old runners back to the game.
