Mednafen core in RetroArch

Hi there,

Simple question, in the rules its stated that we can use Mednafen for emulating Crash games. So if Mednafen is allowed i would assume that Mednafen's PSX core for retroarch a.k.a. "beetle core" is allowed aswell.

https://docs.libretro.com/library/beetle_psx/ Here you can see that the specs are the same as a standalone Mednafen (well yeah its the same thing) and in retroarch it does not offer any additional features. The only difference is that you work with a lot cleaner, simpler and customizable UI in regards of contoller input, video and audio yet nothing altering the emulation itself.

So am i right? Can we use retroarch with this mednafens core? It would be a lot more comfortable to use then other outdated options. Of course if you wont allow this then its a no go. The priority is clear to me "Oblige the rules!".

Thanks and Peace

RetroArch features disk speedup as one of the additional features which is not present in vanilla mednafen. Obviously, don't enable that. Keep it on default.

@burgerlands2 your run was made before the introduction of that feature.

As a note, there is frontloaders such as mednaffe for mednafen which does all the customizable stuff in a nice GUI.

Obviously I'm not one of the mods, however I do know the features.
