There needs to be clarification regarding the rules of 100%.
The old record held by eLmaGus (2:40:45) was set before the item underflow glitch was discovered. However, it was determined that item underflow could be allowed into this run. In recent iterations of the route, the Sun Coin is written in via underflowing the seeds twice (once to get Sky Coin, twice to get Sun Coin) and "duplicating" it in battle to write it in the Key Inventory slot.
What is NOT clear is whether writing the Sun Coin in the Key Inventory slot permits runners to skip Dualhead Hydra. A current iteration of the route assumes that writing in the Sun Coin is the same as the runner has collected the Sun Coin from the red chest in Lava Dome.
I personally believe that collecting the Sun Coin from the chest merits 100% the best, since it still collects the item from the treasure chest. This means Dualhead Hydra will be fought.
Whichever rules the community decides for 100%, I will respect and continue to do 100% runs with this in mind.
From the look of it, everyone's been collecting everything manually (without glitching into inventory) for as long as the category's been around. I agree that 100% should include killing Dualhead Hydra and getting the Sun Coin out of the chest at the end. If I'm not mistaken, every other item in the game is picked up out of a chest as well, I think this one should be no different.

The original rule when Item duping was discovered that we came by for a 100% run of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest is to COLLECT all Items that are not consumables. This means you have to open all Unique Chests during your speedrun! This rule was INSISTED upon by FFGamer86 as I was experimenting with duping Items into my Inventory and had obtained a sub 2:30 time for the category by using those glitches.
If there needs to be a change/the community wants a change that is not only up to me but also everybody who runs the category! So if you guys want a vote or want to maintain the rules needs to be a discussion with everybody involved!
Please let me know in the OFFICIAL Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Discord what your guys opinion and arguements are either way and we can come to a conclusion to this topic!

How about changing the wording of the rules from "Collect all non-consumable Items and Spells." to "Collect all non-consumable Items and Spells from their original locations."? Does that clear up the issue to you all the way I'm envisioning it?
I think at this point the conflict thats about to arise is not really that people are not understanding the defenition (imo it is quite clear to everybody) but rather that some people might want to have a general rule change.
