Spyro 3 speedrun

Hey! So I just started speedrunning with Spyro Remastered: Year of the Dragon. I have watched the world record clip, and I noticed, that the player uses roll in air, but the rules says, that it's banned. What does this mean? Can I use it or not? I don't know is this the right place to ask, but if you can help, I would really appreciate that.

I clicked on that leaderboard and didn't see any rule stating roll in air was banned. I didn't see any rule stating that in the series wide rules either. So I'm not sure where you're getting that info.

The series wide rules also states that runs can be grandfathered in if they were done before a certain rule was set in place, kind of an iffy way to run things but w/e.

If you go to Spyro Reignited Trilogy, then click on Year of the Dragon and view rules, it says, at least for me, that ''Following are banned: Roll in air, ....''

It's an extremely complicated situation. The Spyro Reignited community is contending with this as a whole right now.

In short: The game was patched to remove a lot of tech. On the disc, only Spyro 1 is included. The second and third games are downloaded when you put the disc in. So for those two games now you can only get the patched version.

It has messed up the boards something fierce.

Check in with the community to see what the latest is. Use the game-specific forum or their Discord. My info is a couple weeks old.
