I need a new game to run. Here is a strawpoll with some options.
You should vote for Castle of Illusion because I've already played it and have done exactly 1 run of it. It's like 30 minutes off WR, but that's ok, because it can only get better from there!!
You should vote for Sonic 4 because the world needs more Sonic runners! I chose Episode II over Episode I because it looks closer to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (my all time favorite game). Also, a big plus for me, is that it has just enough of the built in ridiculous speed of a Sonic game, but also just "slow" enough that it's not just a hold right and win type of game..
You should vote for Other only if you have another game to suggest :). I'm looking for a low-medium difficulty 2d platformer that is available on Steam.
TLDR; I can't pick between these two games, but I'm open to other suggestions.

- Cave Story (medium or harsh, depending which end you want)
- Out There Somewhere (fast game, funny executions, don't sleep on your controller)
- Broforce (Funny to play, various characters, but RNG city to speedrun)
- Guacamelee (not sure, but probably harsh to speedrun)
- FEZ (Very particular gameplay, memory brain required)
- Metal Slug (Shoot, run, shoot, run. And don't forget to shoot)

Yajijy: Guacamelee is a difficult but fun run, however, you need a supported controller to pull off one of the major glitches. Xpadder won't help, you actually need a supported controller that works automatically.
I'll throw out You Have To Win The Game if you want to have a look, but I've watched original Castle of Illusion runs and they looked pretty good.
If you run a sonic game you should do sonic cd. Or You could run a crash bandicoot game. Those games are fun to watch, fun to run because of the multitude of tricks and glitches in some of them, and the music ain't too bad if you plan for a longer category.
As much as I respect ALL runners, I'm just not a fan of glitchy runs. I don't enjoy watching them, so I doubt I'd enjoy running them :/.
@pixel_maniacs_chris LOL :) I've watched a gameplay of a French dude actually doing a speedrun of the game before, and it looked so arduous... :D
If your trying to figure it out from other people, I think you have not found a game you'll enjoy playing allot or at least semi-repetitively. You do not want to start trying to play games you will possibly not enjoy, and allot of games are not fun to most as speed runs in general because of the time commitments and learning required of the runners. I suggest just play through the games you currently have that you have in the past enjoyed or played multiple times before and start there as a way to figure out what kinds or genre of games you are more preferred to.
If your not having fun playing the game as a runner, then your not doing it right. Number 1 reason to be playing the game regardless of being good at it, is the always be having fun with it in some fashion.
