Adding Freestyle(Cap/Objective) and Freestyle(Kill) for IL.

When it comes to the freestyle category, the run will result in either capturing the monster or killing the monster while doing whatever you can to get it done asap. The question I have for the community is this.

Would you want a Freestyle Cap and Freestyle Kill variable to add to your runs so that you can see whether the person killed or captured the monster?

If the community wants this, the variables will go from Freestyle and TA, to Freestyle(Cap)/Freestyle(Kill)/TA. If you do or don't want the freestyle variable to be split up like this, please feel free to respond to the thread.

I personally believe the split or kill vs cap is a tad unnecessary, and historically has not been done for previous monster hunter titles. I can see one taking a preference to not having to farm traps etc for frequent run attempts, but does have added "wow" factor when a player places with a kill run amongst the admittedly and obviously faster mathematically kill runs.

I agree with the split, specially in Rise where ur palico literally tells u when the monster is cap ready. It doesnt really hurt either cuz they are still in the same leaderboard for people to see.

Splitting speed runs into more categories on a game with a small community like Monster Hunter is not worth it, and will do more harm than good. That and how Non-TA has always been about getting the absolute fastest time possible with every tool at your disposal. Refusing to cap a monster basically goes against the Non-TA sentiment.

I do not want a split Non-TA category.

Typically I'd be all for people having a category for their run preference, but I also agree with the other sentiments that:

  1. Splitting up an Any% category feels a bit redundant as the point of any% is that it has no rules.
  2. Currently the community, especially in regard to people placing submissions is very small and you'd end up having 1 name displayed if you were to filter.

So I'd personally recommend keeping it as simple. A distinction between TA and Any% (Freestyle) is the main thing. At least until there is a much larger database of submissions.

Clearification for this: the TA Wiki and Freestyle (Capture/Slay) are specifically for IL and do not apply to RTA (Any%).

Please continue your feedback! Its greatly appreciated. ^^
