Hi, I've recently started streaming on twitch and speed running. Stranger things is my first game I'm learning but wondered if there were any videos or guides on running it? Also is there a Co op category as I'm interested in doing that also. I am aware that this would be just split screen. Any info would be great, thanks
Post a co-op run and I'll make the categories for it. I deliberately didn't want to overcrowd the board when there were no runs yet.
My submission run (which, as the comment mentions, has aimless wandering and a bathroom break in it) does have a few legit strats, particularly in the first half to two-thirds of the game. It's extremely rough in the late-game. I will return to this game sometime, a little competition might make it happen sooner :)
Yea late game has been rough for me too. Some good strats in your run though. How do I go about submitting a run because I stream on ps4 and have no other means of recording gameplay or even adding an on screen timer that I know of? Can it be taken from my twitch stream?
No onscreen timer is necessary. Enable VOD saving on your twitch account if you haven't already, highlight the run (DO NOT submit a past broadcast, it will be deleted after 14 days), and that's totally fine for leaderboard submissions. I will eventually run the game on PC myself, I just owned it on PS4 first.
Yes. Stream to twitch (even if no one watches) and highlight your run as I described above.
You will need to use a computer to highlight your run but do you truly possess no PC of any kind? I suppose you might be able to do it on the twitch app, I never have.
If the Twitch app doesn't work on mobile, you could always use https://twitch.tv/ and request desktop site
Yea I managed to highlight a stream on the desktop site on my tablet. Do I then just copy and paste the link?
Click "submit run" on the leaderboard page ( https://www.speedrun.com/stranger_things_3 ) and fill out the form that that leads to. You will need the video link to your run.
If for some reason you can't, I can submit runs on other's behalf since I'm the game's moderator but I would prefer not to do that.
