Can't use the warp glitch at 4-2

Hey guys, I made a video to show the problem I'm new at speedrunn, I'm trying to do the glitch but somehow it doesn't work Thanks for reading

I don't think you're getting sweet little Mario far enough to the right with your backward bump jumps. I think you need to execute 3 of them (except under very special circumstances), which I'm not seeing.....maybe I'm missing it? I only see 1 in your first attempt and 1 or maybe 2 in your second attempt.

In my first attemp, the first backward jump is at 0:03, the second at 0:05 and the third at 0:06

You arent even touching the wall in the 2nd bump or the 3rd bump. Also you go way too far right for the pipe

On your first attempt, you did one backwards bump and two forwards bumps... but then you undid ALL of the rightward push that your bumps accomplished when you overshot the pipe and went back, so it was as if you did zero bumps.

Even if you did all of that with a PERFECT pipe entry, you may or may not have gotten the wrong warp - to guarantee the wrong warp, you need three backwards bumps, because bumping backwards pushes you further to the right than forwards bumps.

The second attempt you did one backwards jump and only one forwards jump - which wouldn't have worked even with a perfect drop, but you overshot and turned left, which, again, erased all the movement accomplished by those two bumps.

I think the problem here is that when you do the backwards jumps you aren't brushing against anything, which is what pushes Mario to the right and allows the trick to work. Also yes, you must stop on the pipe or else you will have to go back to get in the pipe which scrolls the screen back the other way.
