I know this game doesnt have much of an active community, but I figure I'd post.  I am starting to learn how to speedrun this game on the PS3 version (is this version allowed?).  My best time is approximately 1hr 40m ingame.  I struggle in the auto scrolling section (keeping a combo going long enough to get enough points to buy the Antitank rifle at the drugstore can be tricky since my TV has such bad response time), and the underwater segment.

Shouldn't be any problems if you play on a PS3 console. Now, I see that platform isn't on the game but I'm sure one of the mods can add the platform without any problems cuz the game is playable in your platform too. For  this game you'll need what you say: ability for getting a lot of combos and good RNG (luck) at the elevator code that send you to the water section with Regina.

The 8 possible codes are on GUIDES sections of this game, also you'll find a good route for normal mode and hard mode made by HatsKuSakura for getting only the necessary for finishing the game, also you'll see some strats for the mini Dino with the card and final boss fight.

And don't worry about the times with your bad responses with your TV, each platform have their own estimated time that you can finish the game, you just need a timer for this game that is required.

Thanks for the reply!  I've just been picking up the key and unlocking the box to get the elevator code, but Ill probably start trying to enter the codes first and hope for good RNG.  Last night, I was able to shave 25 mins off my PB to 1hr14m, but I dont have a way to record gameplay yet.  I've just been watching Deadhunter's WR run on Youtube for strats.

Just make sure you can record with any device, quality isn't important, just make sure the video can be seen in all the run, using a phone if is possible.

About the codes, try without any problems. One of those 8 will be and you'll win a lot of minutes depending of your RNG :)

Do you play PSN version or PS1 game played on PS3 ?

As Julian & Hatsku said, you need a RTA timer on the video and of course a video to prove time.
