Future planning, is the community dead?

I have interest in learning this eventually, but I'm also concerned if even with the tutorial vids provided, if I get stuck and need help solving some spots or issues with the game. As far as I've heard - this is the only means of communication between runners aside from potentially catching a live streamer?

Well then.. Why is there no discord server for ways of faster communication? I've had great experience from other communities I've learned games for which have used this feature - so it's shocking to know I'd have to go back to pm messages waiting for responses in forum threads if I ever got stuck..

I understand the biggest argument for keeping forums is to save useful information, but that doesn't give the best, fastest line of communication for easier solved questions. How come this franchise haven't taken advantage of discord yet?

As of now, I'd be too concerned to learn any Metroid game for this reason. I understand it's easy to point fingers and not give a s¤it about some random guy coming into your house just to complain.

But I am a runner and I've always wanted to run this, but the tools of doing so seems so outdated compared to other titles that I feel discouraged to pick it up : ( Is main line of communication gonna continue like this for the years to come?

There's a thread titled "Nestroid Discord / IRC" three below this one :) Lurk posted a link to it. Feel free to join and ask questions.

Is Discord the only tool you have in mind here?

i can build a wiki if the community wants to contribute to one

Late chiming in but... If there were a wiki I'd contribute with tutorials or w/e now and then. And I check the discord channel often enough that if shika or anyone else had Q's I'd help. I've played around and experimented w/nestroid all my life so explaining tricks and other game mechanics is my kind of geeking out. Even though Darch explains stuff way more clearly than I. :)

Dang, I dont even remember I made this thread!

I'm happy to see that this community really blew up since last time I checked! With McFly breaking every record in the book, SummoningSalt covering the WR history, RGR featuring this game in their races, ONOT was held on RGL and man the new faces and progression from runners - including Kraid first runs! With plenty of new resources to learn from, its finally time for me to pick this game up, happy I made the decision to wait with it - there's never been a more active metroid community than now and ive improved as a runner since I asked questions last year :P

You'll see me on the leaderboard shortly!
