The reality is that there's literally zero people interested in actually running glitchless.

Glitchless is nowhere near as popular as it would need to be to warrant a category of it's own. The problem doesn't come from the amount of unique runs, it's the lack of consistent runs from people.
Most people who want a glitchless category almost will never do full runs ever again. And no, it's not because there isn't a lb for it, it's because glitchless for a game like hl2 is awful.
So unless there is a huge influx of consistent demand for a glitchless category (from people who run it consistently), it probably wont be added
Running Half-Life 2 glitchless is about as interesting as watching grass grow. There's really nothing too it. If you want to run glitchless go ahead, nobodies going to stop you. Just know that your runs won't really be taken seriously by anybody, because, glitchless hl2 is a joke.
You see I see it as a way that people who can't do it with glitches have a chance at being a speed-runner. I personally cannot do any of the glitches as it's too much coordination and I have problems with my hands in that field. Although if there were runs to be done normally, it wouldn't be that bad. However you people seem to only take it at people wanting to see interesting stuff. Not something chill and relaxing. Now I'm not saying speed-running should be taken as a casual play through but, at the very least it wouldn't be so fast paced as people doing their strategies at flying across the map with grenades.
What I believe people want is just a leader board for the people who do do it glitchless. They have a place to show off their run and improve it. Now what I believe you people are thinking is mass crowds swarming to see a run. Although really it would be a few people who unlike you, care to see a run that doesn't take lots of learning to do. It can be done by any average Joe.
The point is not to forbid Glitchless runs. The thing is that Glitchless in HL2 makes no point: it has a lot of cutscenes, slow movement. If you want to do a glitchless run, then do it. Honestly, do it and prove me I am wrong and that there are cool strats you can come up with or manage to bring competition on that category. Do it!
