At this date, some times in the Japanese Leaderboard are the fastest ones:

  • New Game Normal, ショウ with 3:58:58 the 7th of August 2015 (エンカウント数73回 移動距離40.621km)
  • New Game Normal Glitchless, お庭番 with 4:20:29 the 29th of September 2013 (エンカウント数70回 移動距離41.171km)
  • New Game + Normal, 山崎 with 2:39:27 the 24th of May 2011 (難易度シンプル 引継ぎ制限なし)
  • New Game w/ Lineage & Legacies Normal, お庭番 with 5:06:39 the 13th of March 2013 (本編4:01:06)
  • New Game w/ Lineage & Legacies Normal Glitchless, お庭番 with 6:11:42 the 11th of December 2011 (ダメージ上乗せ称号バグなし)

Wait, so New Game + Speedruns are supposed to be done on Normal Difficulty too? Dangit, I've been doing it wrong this whole time! >.<

No. The JP RTA leaderboards only allow times done on Normal. If you choose to play on Easy you can. Just do not change difficulties in the middle of the run as that isn't allowed.

I feel like this is not a good question but since I am struggling ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I went to those boards to see the latest glitchless run (which according to Google Translate's flawless translation it is the second table). I tried clicking both links next to the time and it either sends me to their latest stream or to the user's profile. Can someone try pointing me in the general direction of the run itself (since apparently I am inept at finding it). I am looking at the 4:20 run. I am doing it for the 12 hour challenge so hopefully someone can reply before that starts :3c

Thanks in advance!

Japanese runs are usually not archived directly, and even if they are, they're probably not the best resource, especially without a JP copy of the game (exclusive version glitches and what not). I'd recommend using Pitted's run as a resource for 12 Hour Challenge shenanegans.

If for whatever reason, you have a JP copy of the game, I have the first 3/4's of a Japanese run archived on Youtube by the WR holder and the JP Glitched any% notes, but I haven't fully translated them.

Yeah, I actually talked to Shineeyo, I am going to use his 4:30 no glitch run. It is JP but glitchless. I also have a JP copy but I am inept at dealing with moonrunes so I will refrain from that. Not very interested in any% glitched. Thanks though! Also I totally didn't expect anyone to respond to this let alone so quickly D: Thanks Ghoul!

Bertin,

I am pretty sure if you read the leaderboards they say you can do Normal and higher. I am pretty confident in my google/translate capabilities.

Thats what google says it say on the Wiki page, :>

Since this is the only topic for Graces right now I'm just going to pose a random question I've been thinking about. Is it really necessary to have separate Leaderboards for NG+ Glitchless and Glitched? Not trying to be judgemental or anything, just genuinely curious. The only two Glitches I know of for Graces are the Accessory Glitch and the Instant-Cast Glitch. The Accessory one is, as far as I know, Japanese only and is mainly used for money purposes, which NG+ can just inherit Gald and Instant-Cast probably doesn't save all that much time since you're 1/Few-shotting everything anyways for the most part. So unlike New Game I just don't see glitches saving enough time significantly for there to really mandate separate categories. But maybe I'm just weird like that and it is significant enough and I just don't see it, I just hope no one's bothered by my attempt to breath life into discussing this game. :P

Dtchow, My point is that you wont play the harder difficulties for a faster time. Meanwhile, here we allow lower than Normal such as a Simple difficulty that could net a faster time. Understand it now? Also the JP leaderboards will usually have strict rules on certain glitches meanwhile we might allow them. Comparing times there to here is meaningless without videos since they also use their own type of timing. It's just numbers and most of the time completely meaningless to try and compare the two when their community runs things differently. It gets to the point where estimating would be impossible without visual evidence.
