City-City with no fast travel

Hello all! I wanted to get into ETS2 running but I feel that doing runs using the fast travel/recovery system is against the spirit of the game (personally, anyways). Would the mods be open to starting a category for ONLY driving, RTA from loading in and departing the first location and timer ends upon arrival at destination? This mode would prohibit fast travel and towing. I feel like I'd get MUCH more enjoyment out of that than the current runs.

In the current category, there is a bit of a rule loophole. Recovery by towing isn't explicitly permitted or prohibited, so I see runners using that. By that same logic, is using fast travel between garages you own also permitted? Unless I am missing something, I think that is a bit of a hole that should be patched, as it's unclear to me whether I should start doing that in runs.

I am particularly interested in doing runs (and will probably do them anyways) but I'd like to see an officially recognized RTA "towless%" category or something of the like. I'd be happy to assist in drafting official rules or even moderating such a category.

Cheers!

If you want "pure driving runs", the recently re-introduced IGT subcategory does aim for that, since towing and fast travel take more game time than just driving to the station/garage.

Have to admit that it's not perfect due to how the game time works.

Yeah, I'd sincerely just prefer to RTA a pure driving run - there's no loading time (aside from routes requiring ferries) to factor out and it makes for better timing/pacing during a run. I will probably try doing one anyways, and hopefully it will gain some sort of meaningful traction. I will probably try for the IGT category as well if the RTA towless doesn't go anywhere.

There is no point doing RTA "tow-less" as that is the same as IGT for all intents and purposes, but with the addition of load times counting, which is bad. So IGT is what you're looking for.

As for Garage warping, that should be specifically banned - we made that amendment to the ATS rules but I've not copied it across, so will do that now; thanks for the reminder.
