I think that it is unfair to use controllers in a mobile speedrun. As a regular Minecraft player on Android, i know how hard it is to use the controls. Now, here comes some players who use controller (s) instead of the normal touch screen and get high rank on the leaderboards. A controller is way more easier to use than touchscreen. 1. I personally find controller much harder
2. Touch screen is actually advantageous (you can open chests from a farther distance)

I made a post about this a while back. Mangoman just said that " if I can use controller for pc and console I can use it for mobile". Then why can't I use touch for pc? " It'll ruin the category because there is an op dupe glitch for mobile"

We have tried to accommodate for a wide variety of cross-platform/controls to allow all platforms to play together and use whatever they feel comfortable playing with. This means you yourself can go and get a controller to play on mobile if you would like to. Touchscreen has to stay to mobile only though as there is a touchscreen duplication glitch that we would like to stay in the mobile category as it would break the other platform categories.

A touchscreen laptop at its cheapest will cost you several hundreds of dollars and will give you an advantage.
