Trueno Run -The unbeatable record

I've been practicing Trueno Run for months now and this month I started finnishing the map in under 03.05.00 quite consistantly,at first i thought i couldn't go under 3m05s but I did. I do not have a full recording of the run because I just play the map for fun but near the end when I saw how good my time was I decided to open OBS and record what little was left of the map. I just wanted to share the video here since there is no chance that it will ever get approved :D Here is the video:

Whats up. Ive been doing haruna takumi/trueno runs for a few years now for fun against myself since I dont know anybody that actually tries for times and communities basically dont exist for this game anymore. I prefer to have all assists turned off and of course manual transmission setting. My best takumi course is 2:24.87 and my best trueno (havent been doing it too much) is a 3:12.69. You seem pretty good but I think you have assists turned on. I dont really think it matters, but I wonder what your times would be without assists, you should try it and see if you like it without assists. Also if you'd like to play online sometime me and some of my friends use the Evolve software and it works without issue, and you can really easily modify the database file to get all cars on all tracks including haruna working on multiplayer. If you'd like to play online for fun hit me up my steamID is Zone0fEndless https://steamcommunity.com/id/Zone0fEndless/

I dont think my times are really as reputable as a non-replay time but I dont consider them special or anything so ill link them here. I mainly drive the Evo X because I am pretty sure its the fastest pro tuned car for the touge but I think the GT-R is fun as well.

Takumi downhill no assists

Trueno downhill no assists

P.S. I wish you could private message people on this site

Well this is a surprise,I genuinely thought no more than 2 people still play the touge tracks(Me and the Danish guy who hasn't posted a new record for me to beat in like a month)

Yes I do play with assists,I dont know what controlls you're using but I find it near impossible to drive w/o assists with the arrow keys :D.Traction controll is a MUST since the pedal settings have no impact when using arrow keys. The other 2 assist options I believe I can do without, though it would be a while for me to get used to.Also having them on is the optimal way of doing speedruns and the only thing I'm interested is how fast I can do a lap.(even thought nobody cares)

I'm sort of taking a break from the game at the moment,I've been trying to do runs in NFS Carbon tracks but I suck. I wouldn't mind playing with you though I fear you'd be at a disadvantage if I were to have assists on.

I can not comment on the Evo X since I don't have that car. But out of the basic ones the 350z seems to be the optimal car for touge races, and for normal races i'd say it's the GT-R but some maps can be a toss up between the 350z and the GT-R

3:04.38? Nice time! Too bad you didn't record it... But no worries, I've got you covered!

Here's what a 3:04.38 looks like:

Funnily enough I got the exact same time while trying to beat your 3:04.38, which is rather difficult, especially considering the constant traffic messing runs up.

Nice, I didn't think I had decent competition.

I got a 03:04.07 today but you still remain the record holder since I didn't record it. You're a better driver aswell, I tend to drift a lot more. https://imgur.com/a/c9wVufJ I think I got 02:19.45 on the second check point compared to your 02:19.43 so that means you're a bit slower on the last section. Also getting this time I now think it's quite possible to drop below 03:04 good luck.

Edit: got 03:03.72 which I DID record but i used 2 flashbacks on the same fucking corner couse im retarded and i wont post -.- unless you want me to.

I do think that flashbacks should not be allowed on a run as it pretty much constitutes as a TAS run in that case. Also 3:03.72 sounds awesome.

I'll be busy with work for a while now and will be moving shortly. I'll try and improve the runs sometime in November probably. And ye, I'm up for giving you some healthy competition in Grid in the future ^^

Just improved to 3:03.47 First part ended with 1:10.11 which is pretty good (think my best is 1:09.72) Second part went really well and ended with 2:18.56 Last part was horrible, it could've been a 1:02.xx for sure, but was too nervous after seeing 2:18.56 and just wanted to make sure I finish and prayed for no traffic.

So, I know this thread is super old, but I didn't even know there was a speedrun.net section for this game

You guys try the Viper for Trueno at all?

I'm not quite down to 3:03, but, given I'm racing on a keyboard, I'm pretty happy with this I'd love to see what you guys could do with the Viper if you're still playing
