It's a bit hard for a moderator to judge the legitimacy of the run if they don't even own the game yet.

I know the game 100% so i could controll the runs.

@spleatz if you do there will be more people who do

Timing: Starts when you select Start on the title screen and ends when you get shot out of the cannon in the final area

That does seem silly that we have to wait a week before we can submit times, hasn't one of the mods finished the game already? I've already beaten it and ran it twice.

I'd just like to see some runs submitted so I can see times others have gotten.

If you're worried about spoilers add me as a mod ????

Have some patience. I’m fairly sure you can handle a few days without a concrete leaderboard while the moderators get themselves up to speed with everything in the game and the community as a whole.

Seriously, I feel like people are just using the lack of leaderboard as an excuse to request moderator.

Gotta say i'm intrigued by a whole week. I can understand a day or two for either spoils or being spammed with horrible attempts. But for glitchless any% clean runs can be made in a couple days with some determination. Obviously not "optimized" but runs are almost always improving. Not mad in case anyone is wondering just find it curious and i don't think it's necessary.

Remember you guys can long jump in this game! ive seen so many people slowly walk through the game like jeez, have you never tried it?? wtf

Waiting a week before accepting runs should be a rule on this site as a whole, i've seen day 1 speedruns being submitted that do nothing but deter people from speedrunning (look at south park, they had 14 and 19 hour blind playthrough submissions as WR, really helps a community out letting literal let's plays on a leaderboard). If a week bothers you then put yourself in the place of a mods shoes who is still going through the game, how can they reasonably verify a run if they haven't even played the game yet?

It’s a good idea to let the mods play the game first in order to make sure they know how everything works before they start accepting runs.

Makes sense, and you mods are in charge of making the rules so I won't complain. SeemsGood This does anger me though. :P I really wanna see some speed

Mods not wanting to be spoiled is one reason, but as zewing said, we wanna stomp on the Day 1 "runners" who will upload casual playthroughs for a free WR. If they don't have the patience to wait a week to submit their precious WR, then they shouldn't be on this site.

Thank you, you can wait a week it’s not a huge deal lol

@MODS if you already have assist mode as a subcategory you don't need it as a variable.

sm64 N64 category also has "EMU" variable...dont think the site lets you strike it out, when choosable to describe runs

@Jumpyluff, “Assists” means things that can help your run (Assist Mode, 2P, and Amiibo). Assist Mode is an assist.

It seems like Jumpyluff is pointing out the fact that the "no assist" versions of the categories have columns that will always be set to no. For instance, in no assist mode the "2p", "Amiibo" and Assist Mode" will always be set to no, no matter what. So it's redundant to have those columns there, it only makes sense for the assist mode version of categories.

The Game's been out for a while and a friend and I race all the time. We've agreed to start the run at the mode select screen. As for the end, grabbing the Grand moon seems to be the better option, since in games like Mario 64, you would end your run after grabbing the last star.

Miziashi: are you talking about any% or another category? I’m pretty sure there isnt a final multi moon at the end of any%

Virginia, USA

@GoodleShoes , it's impossible for us to have the different columns for only the assists sub category. It sucks, but the variables have to be on every one
