So when I try to upload a (obviously not yet verified run), no matter wether i click "yes" or "no" under the "has this run been verified" section, it always brings me a notification that "your run needs to be verified first" and it doesn't show up when I go to my profile page and click "runs". It says "when you submit runs, they'll show up there"

Well, this certainly doesn't have a "has this run been verified" section. When you submit runs in most games, you will need to wait until a moderator for that game checks and verifies your run. Since Super Mario 64 is a very popular game, you will probably need to wait a little longer until that happens.
Only your verified runs appear in your profile section.
Well, on the leaderboard, there is a column where it says "Verified", but ok... Anyways, I might just have submitted the same run like 4 or 5 times oops
The variable "Verified" in Super Mario 64 is an additional variable added by moderators of the game (you should put No until a mod verify your run) to keep track of which runs has been verified with a full video in a decent quality, while there are some old runs in the leaderboard with video no longer available that are still there but "not verified".
