Viability of Wii VC

New/returning SMW runner. I would like to return to 11 exit after over a year of not even owning the game. How viable is Wii VC for 11 exit runs (cloud, orb and none) when compared to a SNES? Also, if Wii VC does happen to be viable, are there any available resources that you can point me towards without violating ToS? Thanks in advance

Wii VC is fine. I believe there is a cloud setup on VC, but it's different to the console setup. Orb is exactly the same, and of course glitchless is fine too.

In terms of resources, check out this post https://www.speedrun.com/smw/thread/cq7dn There's a #resources channel in the discord too with a lot of useful links

Thanks XanderWebb479, much appreciated. I'll probably just run it glitchless until I get a SNES again if the setup is different. Or maybe I'll learn orb for the time being. Thanks though.

On second thought, I may have been thinking about the credits warp when I said there's a setup for VC.... I don't think cloud is possible. One of the two, anyway

But yeah, orb works exactly the same as on console

Thanks again, I got it all set up. Time to relearn and get going on runs

Xander is right, there is an alternate Credits Warp Setup for Wii U VC created by Sethbling. Currently, there is no known setup for getting Cloud on any of the VC platforms. The only way to successfully attempt the cloud is via the original SNES and various emulators.

Also, timing wise, the VC platforms run slower the SNES at about 59.97 FPS or 60FPS while the SNES runs at about 60.0988138974405FPS. You actually do not have an advantage running on any platform other than the original SNES when technically speaking.
