8-2 framerule save?

Is it possible to get a better framerule where bullet bill shoots even earlier than it already does, to make a 4:53 possible?

United States

No. There's a certain minimum distance away from the cannon that Mario needs to be, otherwise the cannon won't shoot. The shots that the TAS and WR-level RTA runs currently get are already at or pretty close to that limit, and those shots are pretty far away from the next framerule.

Oh ok, rip 4:53 then lmao

4:53 will happen

well yeah, i think it could happen but this game has been optimized probably more than any other game (besides dragster). i’m not the most knowledgeable of the game, but i know that it would have to be a really big find to save any more time

What are you talking about?... the dragster record has not been beaten for 30 years just because only one person optimized it. The record shall never be beat!

I think there is real potential for FFPG in every level. There HAS to be a way to hit the bottom of the flagpole just right. I don't think anybody really hunts for it anymore.

I think that if any new time saves happen, they will either save like 5 frames or like 5 seconds. Plus, it will probably be in the FAR future when someone finds something new. Also like PAL, tons of possibilities there. (Ultra_Exists moment 😳)

FFPG is tantalisingly close, there is a very real possibility that a plumber could move 1/256 pixel over. And yes, that is how close FFPG is. 1/256 pixel.

could you do something like how the 8-1 starblock manipulates the flag’s position, but with mario?

I wish there was a way to push Mario closer to the fp without slowing him down a ton. Only problem if there is a way framerules would probably mess it up. Also, it's funny how people who don't know a lot about the game might think that 1/256 pixel is really far away but we are like it's insanely close lol. Idk though.

how many framerules does ffpg save?

Ireland

Somewhere around 2.4 seconds.

and what are the subpixel values you would need for ffpg?

Québec

If he didn't need to tap left to clip in the pole block (kinda like SMB3) , D70 + frame perfect A press the frame you land would give FFPG
