I would like more info to be added to the info tab on people’s profiles. Current WRs and top 3 runs would be nice. This would be shown as a number not as individual records and maybe some other info. Please add this!

I don’t really see the benefit of adding that because there is no consistency in competitiveness between leaderboards. For example, holding the Any% WR in Mario Odyssey is a huge accomplishment, but a WR in the Freerice flags category is yours if you put in 3 minutes.

The display for specific WRs could take into consideration how many runs/runners there are for that category. Basic would be less than 10 runners, and really notable WRs could be in a category that has more than 1000 runners, etc. I think it would be cool.

@goadiroth Good ideas. That could work.

Why does a WR in a game with less than 10 runners get labeled as “basic”? That would be incredibly insulting to anyone who spent time grinding that game. You can still grind out a run in a game with less than 10 runners and you can still get a really good time. Maybe you and one other player traded the record back and forth for a while so now the WR is really optimized. Shouldn’t that make it labeled as something else? The second you start artificially deciding who has a more noticeable WR than someone else, that becomes a problem. Runner count is in no way a reliable indication of the quality of a run nor is it even an indication of the competitiveness of the category/game.

As for the suggestion of just showing a number of WRs or a number of top 3 times like the OP suggested, that’s more harmless, I just personally don’t see a need for it. But that idea still isn’t bad.

"Why does a WR in a game with less than 10 runners get labeled as “basic”?"

This was just an idea with a random word for a beginner tier in regards to a hypothetical rating system for WRs. Other factors can definitely be taken into account. And what you mentioned about optimizing a non-popular category did come to mind, I just didn't type it out. It's very subjective I suppose. True, showing the number of WRs would be better if anything like that was ever implemented.
