Inconsistent timing methods and verification.

I'm not trying to come off as rude but this board is already off to a bad start. Every run is starting their timer at a different spot, and the world record was verified based off of a YouTube video length "mod note" instead of livesplit. If you would like, I have some ideas and can help moderate and bring some better rules and consistency to this board before it dies. I already moderate resident evil 3 so I have some experience

honestly, i'm not too sure if this is true but i wouldn't be surprised. i find the start of the time of this game really odd and just very vague, it says the time starts when Tabby leaves the bed but that really doesn't help much, i think it should start when the player presses space but it's whatever. also i just wanna say i have no issue with the moderators at all and im not saying that you, psycho are lying about this but i just didn't really check when the time starts on most of these runs

thank you for your comment jamiee, i don't mean any offense to the moderators at all. But obviously, you agree the rules are vague and aren't being followed correctly because they aren't clear. You can see for the world record that the time is going based off his note instead of his timer

Greetings, @PSYCHOTATER! I can agree our rules are hard to understand, but we follow our rules when retiming runs! "When Tabby leaves the bed" means: timer starts on first input, when you are starting to move. I'll try to make leaderboard rules easier to understand! P. S. Sorry for late reply!

The timing rules could definitely be a bit simpler, but I've opted to come up with my own solution.

Setting LiveSplit to start at a negative value allows me to start the timer when I press space to start the game, rather than waiting for the perfect moment. -4.45 seems to be pretty good, but I'm sure it could be made more accurate. This is really helpful for me because I find that starting the timer at the exact correct moment is really difficult, especially when I have the actual game to worry about at the same time. @MegaMix_Craft Perhaps it would be helpful if we could agree on the exact amount of time it takes for the timer to start, from pressing the space bar. That way, we're all happy! Easy for the runner to time it, and no need to change the timing rules!

Thank you for your response @MegaMix_Craft I appreciate the transparency and I think could be a good speedrun game. I do think that the current record should be invalidated considering his time does not match livesplit though

I did some testing after a run just now and the in-game clock seems to progress regardless of whether you've done your first input or not. So I think we need to come up with a new timing method for consistency. On restarting the game, you automatically exit the bed and the IGT progresses and speedrunning means a lot of hitting restart in the menu.

Changes to rules.

As some of you have seen we have changed a few things around and I'd like to go over them a little bit here.

Timing Changes: From now on all runs will start as soon as Tabby/Melody are off the bed and will end of the first fully black/white frame that occurs after the Cutscene (After killing th
